Good start. But your emphasis is on the mountains and less with the portrait. I'd suggest you use a vertical portrait and the lovely lady's face in the upper one-third of the frame. Add a little contrast depth to the frame.
I would reduce the color saturation a bit and add a small amount of blue to reduce the heavy yellow.
Easy on the saturation! Great shots though.
The 1st & 5th are especially dynamic!
I identified a nest in South Louisiana in the 70's at Lake Martin to the amazement of our leader who was astounded! An alligator was next to our canoe!
Skyway Morning, Sailor's Warning...
Skyway Evening, Sailor's Easing!
Young Water Moccasin. Older ones are Black and rounder.
A bit of history...I remember my Mom saying the family of 9 grew up on Pokeweed leaves, which Grandma Keel stated "you cannot eat them raw, but must first parboil them to remove the poison elements that would make you very sick! It grew in NW Louisiana sandy soil, and was the only plentiful food source in the early 1900's to keep the family nourished.
Not distracting if it's natural in it.
I think the 2nd with sky background and the reflection in the water.
In North Louisiana we called them "Daddy Long Legs"
The 1st for the "hunt" and the 3rd for the "capture"
Did you get to go into the USS Drum that's been renovated?
Know it well! Our Scout Troop from Lafayette have spent overnight on the USS Alabama several times. Most interesting!
