Battleship Memorial Park in Mobile, Alabama opened to the public on January 9, 1965, with much of the funding raised by school children. Many exhibits have been added since. It's a wonderful place to visit. Located off Interstate 10, easily visible from the highway. I first visited when I was 16 and have since been many times, taking my children and then their children to see the Park. It's a place that honors the men and women who served and are serving today, we owe so much to them !!!

The gallery is all B&W. These are some of the shots I took in 2017 on a family visit.I have also loaded a larger, separate color gallery of some shots from that trip !!

If you would like, Please click on the picture, doing so will link you to the gallery page where the shot can be seen in higher resolution and full page. Thanks for viewing and Have A Blessed Day !!!

When you stand on the deck of a battle ship you feel all is right in the world. Very nice photos.

They just don't make war ships that beautiful today. The new one are awesome and sexy, but not beautiful.

A most worthy tribute to our fighting men, particularly in the Navy. I visited this floating museum about 10 years ago, and recommend it for its powerful representation of military might in its time. Your black-and-white photographs do justice to this tribute.

I do not recall seeing the gun emplacement when I visited. It may be new.

Thank you for this post. I'm not a fan of B&W but these are absolutely beautiful photographs. From a former Aircraft Carrier Sailor it was always a comfort to see the escorts out there on the horizon.
