I like both shots. Yes, the buildings in #1 nailing the foreground. In #2 I find the shadows doing just as good a job in nailing the foreground. Both good!! Stan

Yes, I see Your monster.. now see mine: Go horizonaly past "your" monster's right eye and you will find "my monster's " right eye! See if you find the third eye, creating a different monster. Regards to all, Stan

Jerry, I just tried to down load from this site-it was blocked by my computer, as being dangerous.

We're planning a trip to Portugal next year and I'm debating whether to take my full frame or my compact. What would you take with you? If it is the full frame, then is their one lens you would take with you? (I have a 28-60mm, 16-35mm). Or, is the Sony rx100vii sufficient for a trip to Europe? Looking forward to hearing your opinions!

Since my current cameras have only one slot, which I am used to, if I purchased a new camera with two slots, I would simply use the SD slot and ignore the CF. I won't use it simply because it's there.
Overflow? I'll change cards.
JPEG on one RAW on the other? Why? I put them in the same directory on the computer anyway. Just two sets to transfer.
Insurance in case of card failure? Been using one card slot for over 20 years.

I used to hear someone say, "yeashe schmedea" or something similar. Any idea what he meant?

Thanks! And DOBRÉ ODPOLEDNE

I believe it to mean: "Maybe (he or she) smiles" Appears to be two people discussing a third person who is at a little distance from them, but is aware that the person is being viewed and discussed. Appears to be of German or Yiddish language.

I have the Epson 3880, never used with all the accessories from the original box. Haven't decided yet, but considering selling it and buying something simpler- it may be beyond my needs or ability. I haven't researched it's value yet so have not settled on an asking price. I know the printer's capabilities and will keep it and figure everything out if I can't get value. If you are interested, let me know and we can talk. Thanks!

The cost of new replacement cartridges is VERY HIGH-check it out. If you are not earning a money by printing and the print size is not necessary for your use( up to 17X20, then a cheaper printer might make more sense for you.

Sorting out an age-old question of serious interest to all ...

an-elderly-man-rests-on-a-shady-balcony-

I mowed the lawn today, and after doing so I sat down and had a cold beer. The day was really quite beautiful, and the drink facilitated some deep thinking.

My wife walked by and asked me what I was doing, and I said, "Nothing."

She then said, "That's what you did yesterday!"

I replied, "I WASN'T DONE, SO I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF FINISHING RIGHT NOW."

The reason I said "nothing" instead of saying "just thinking" is because she then would have asked, "About what?" At that point I would have had to explain that men are deep thinkers about various topics, which would lead to other questions.

Finally, I pondered an age-old question: "Is giving birth more painful than getting kicked in the nuts?"

Women always maintain that giving birth is way more painful than a guy getting kicked in the nuts, but how could they know?

Well, after another beer, and some more heavy deductive thinking, I have come up with an answer to that question.

Getting kicked in the nuts is more painful than having a baby, and even though I obviously couldn't really know, here is the reason for my conclusion. A year or so after giving birth, a woman will often say, "It might be nice to have another child."

On the other hand, you never hear a guy say, "You know, I think I would like another kick in the nuts."

I rest my case. Time for another beer, and then maybe a lengthy nap.
Sorting out an age-old question of serious interes... (show quote)

I like your original capture. To my eyes, the background ADDS a 3D look with greater depth to the composition. Your revised composition is too sterile in appearance. Yes, the violin and bow stand out more against the background but seems too cold to me. Look at it this way: Some people are more comfortable when they can dot their "i's" and cross their "tees", others, when then they can both think and see "out of the box". Both are great!
