Hello! I just started getting into photography about a year ago and purchased my first SLR camera this past summer(Sony a55)

I was wondering if someone could explain the advantages/disadvantages of shooting your photos in RAW. Is it better to shoot in RAW? Does it produce a better final image then if you were not to shoot in the regular format?

Hi,

I am a mom who is attempting to take her kids pics, in order to save money having them taken professionally. I love photography but am not educated on the how to's of it. I have a canon rebel slr camera. I recently bought a 50mm 1.8f prime lens. Any suggestions when taking photographs both indoors and outdoors?

Thanks. Colleen.

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out what I need to do regarding sharpening my photos for print.

When I'm working on my photos, I do a clean edit and then do an enhanced and/or cropped one. I usually forget to sharpen them, since there are about ten thousand different actions and techniques in order to do so.

Do I sharpen dead last, just before print? I did an order the other day for a customer, and they ordered an 8x10 of something. I didn't sharpen, but it looked sharp when I zoomed in to 100%.

When I got it back however, it looked fuzzy and not good quality. I'm new at this and am quite frustrated as to how to get those wonderful crisp photos with just the right amount of sharpening....I want to do some really large prints on our wall of my kids, but now I'm afraid they won't come out as I picture in my mind.

Any advice on this would be appreciated!

Shanna

Is there a good, reasonably-priced 35mm FILM DEVELOPMENT service by mail these days? I have new cameras and am not getting decent photos anymore: I think the development quality is poor. Recently I had reprints made at Walgreen's, and the color quality is definitely poorer than the originals. HELP!

Hello,
I hope you can help, I have an ebay business an take a lot of pictures which happens to be the hardest part of my job is getting the perfect photograph because I'm not great at it however, great pictures sell.

I would like to make my pictures look more professional by having a white background. I don't have photoshop so I using some software obtained free online GIMP 2. I used it however, it's very time saking and I'm hoping for a faster way to change the background.

Best Regards,
Barbara

Hi,

I am considering purchasing a HS20EXR Fujifilm camera but I read recently that earlier this year some of this model camera were suffering from over heating. I read there was a firmware fix. Can you please tell mee if this problem is now no longer a problem or not.

Thank You
Ken

Hi,

This question may be a little naive, but I'm going to ask anyway. I recently was on vacation and was taking beach shots of my toddlers. One of them decided what fun it would be to throw sand that has the consistency of sugar. Needless to say, some of the sand found its way into my lens and now it is difficult to zoom in and out. Is there anyway that I can clean the sand out myself, or should I bite the bullet and take it in for a cleaning?

Thank you for your time in reading my question. I truly appreciate it.

Hi,

New to DSLR cameras - I have a Nikon D3000 DSLR and boy do I need help........
Went to a high school football to take pictures mainly of the Marching band. I had it set on Sports and continious (burst). Out of 141 shots 80 of them are so blurred you can barely tell what shot it was.

Please tell me what did I do so wrong. I messed up some awfully good shots.
