THANKS for your service! Know there are a LOT of people on a carrier, but any chance you knew a Larry Gilbert? One of the seamen lost during the fire. Went to school with him. I joined the crotch, he went to Great Lakes. Both of us ended up goin' to Nam about the same time. Glad ya came thru.

St Augustine Beach Lakeside Veterans Memorial Park just off A1A near St A police station. Gators, turtles, snake-necked anhinga birds (usually with a meal speared on their beaks!), heron, egrets, etc. Get there before sunrise and snap away.

concerning the fotoframes from HoodmanUSA: they only supply the frames. I had my script filled by Sams Club...
Did a good job... And one poster was right, some optical shops won't fit lenses for frames from somewhere else.

check out Amazon... search for strap-on head lamps...
You'll find plenty of choices, some with red leds for night vision work, some with variable focus for long range narrow beam to wide angle close up work, some with detachable lamps etc...
work hands free or hands on whatever suits your needs

Hey charlieA!
Check out the hoodman site and look at the Foto Frames...frames flip up (individually) so you can get right up there to the viewfinder, all without taking off your glasses. I've used them for little over a year & luv'm! T
You can have one eye up to the camera yet still be able to see clearly thru the other! No fumbling for your glasses, no tangles with your cam strap, whatever... Have a set of lenses installed in them 'n yer set to go! I had Sams Club do it 'n been pleased with the work.

This is a simple, not even serious thing I wanna throw out there just because I'm curious about what you other guys do.

For those of us wearing reading glasses I guess we've made a decision to either focus the viewfinder with glasses on or glasses off. Trying to be quick and get off a shot and having to worry about getting my glasses on too... what a pain. So I'm gonna go the other route for a while and focus the viewfinder in so i can shoot without my glasses and see what happens.

What do you guys do?

HMMMM! No one within arms reach to shoot with. Oh darn. I am trying to set up a 4 or 5 day shoot in yellowstone NP in Feb or March. I do most of my pics in summer (it's a whole lot warmer here then) but I do want to get a winter week in Yellowstone. Wildlifeman.

I use Picasa 3 & Picnic to edit my Nikon RAW (NEF), with no problems whatsoever. NEF = Nikon Electronic Format
http://www.nikonusa.com/Learn-And-Explore/Nikon-Camera-Technology/ftlzi4ri/1/Nikon-Electronic-Forma-NEF.html

Canon, Sony, Kodak, Olympus, etc., all have their own proprietory "recording" (RAW) formats. Raw images can only be catured in a camera, and cannot be re-written (edited) into another RAW image. All manipulated RAW images can only be saved as a JPG, TIF, or other "printing" format.
~*~*~*~

I have probably what is the least expensive camera used on this forum: a Canon S95. It will shoot in RAW and I've already downloaded Picasa. I've not shot in RAW yet as I'm just learning my camera. Does anyone have any idea whether Canon data is compatable with Picasa?
Any help or suggestions will be very much appreciated.
Gordon
