Guys, money being of little concern (I can't take it with me) what wide anglel lens would you recommend for my Nikon 750. also I have a 300mm f2.8 which is mucho heavy. Need a grip or something where I can shoot at shoulder height.

What focal length range are you looking for? Also, what type of subjects would this (wide angle) be most used for?

If you are serious about image quality, the New Sigma 24mm f1.4 is a real head turner. And, the new Sigma 20mm f1.4 will be out soon ....

As for the 300mm, I recommend my "bodypod" .......http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-183287-1.html

Walt, that lens is a bad match for your full-frame D750.
The 12-24 was made for the smaller DX sensor.
Nikon's 14-24 would be a better choice or a third-party lens from Sigma or Tamron, but make certain they will cover your full-frame sensor. You got a "big boy" full-frame camera so you have to pay for "big boy" lenses.

The 12-24 is a DX lens - maybe you are thinking the 14-24 which is FX but does not accept filters easily ...

Great point! (I don't shoot landscapes)
The Nikon 16-35 would probably be a good choice in that case.
Takes 77 mm filters...

Sigma makes a 12-24 for FX. Info HERE.
Never used that one myself.

Nikon, Tokina, Sigma and Tamron offer pro level constant aperture zoom lenses which should serve you well for about any subject except architecture.

For architectural work, I would avoid all zooms with a minimum focal length less than 28mm.

Constant aperture? I think you mean that the aperture stays at the same value that is set at every focal length but can be changed at the shooters discretion

Sigma also made a 17-35 2.8-4 FX - which may be a real sleeper from reviews I have seen.

Exactly.

Edit: This is a common term to indicate that the aperture does not change when zooming. Quote from Nikon's description of the 24-70 f/2.8 E ED VR:
"•Fast f/2.8 constant aperture with an electromagnetic diaphragm"
