Safari Park in Escondido. You can plan to spend at least 2 days here, enjoying wild animals in their natural habitat.

Three women go down to Mexico one night to celebrate college graduation, get drunk, and wake up in jail, only to find that they are to be executed in the morning, though none of them can remember what they did the night before.

The first one, a redhead, is strapped in the electric chair and is asked if she has any la...st words. She says, "I just graduated from Trinity Bible College and believe in the almighty power of God to intervene on the behalf of the innocent."

They throw the switch and nothing happens. They all immediately fall to the floor on their knees, beg for forgiveness, and release her.

The second one, a brunette, is strapped in and gives her last words. "I just graduated from the Harvard School of Law and I believe in the power of justice to intervene on the part of the innocent."

They throw the switch and again, nothing happens. Again they all immediately fall to their knees, beg for forgiveness and release her.

The last one (you knew it), a blonde, is strapped in and says, "Well, I'm from the University of Tennessee and just graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering, and I'll tell ya right now, ya'll ain't gonna electrocute nobody if you don't plug this thing in."

FYI: Mexico doesn't have the death penalty or the electric chair!!! Joke still funny though...

Why were 11 million emigrants allowed to come to this country?
Could it be that they are hard workers? Your dog might be living under B.H.O.'s benefits.

I agree with #3...
While hunting antelope North of Rock Springs Wyoming, I saw a doe get shot, (legal doe tag) she took a couple of steps and stood there, wounded. A near-by buck lost no time in mounting her before she dropped to the ground a few seconds later...Was it instinct???

I have a set of close up filters and I don't have much luck with them. I have never been able to get a real crisp image compared to what I get with my 105mm Macro lens. I bought the more expensive close up filters but still not the results I was hoping for. Having said that it could well be that I just don't have the skills needed to get good results with them.

I use a Canon close-up filter on my Nikon 70-300mm lens with excellent results. The only thing required was an adapter from 67mm (lens) to 72mm (Filter). I highly recommend the use of your tripod. Camera used: Nikon D7000, close up filter: Canon 500D. View pictures in "download" mode for better viewing.

Jolly1 ,
I live in Los Angeles, right in the middle of what I call little Tijuana. I am well aware of our problem which is costing Citizens jobs. Several million Illegals in the workforce, most often as day labor or under the table employees. The Immigration system is fine, Border enforcement is poor at best. One cannot put blame on the Illegal aliens, They are just trying to improve their sort in life. I can however blame the Administrations, both local and national for not enforcing the law. Enforcement of Employment law would help, those unable to find gainful work would have to return to their own country to survive. I for one am damn tired of Political correctness ruling the country, an illegal is an illegal not an undocumented worker. I am tired of politicians such as Antonio Viaragossa, our Mayor, trying to make the city a Sanctuary City. Our elected Administrative officials are supposed to enforce the Law, not rewrite it. If you want to heal the economy then simply send the illegals home , there are more working illegals than there are unemployed.
End of Rant

Where was the Border Patrol/Immigration when over 11 MILLION + crossed the border ??? Talk about inefficiency in the Federal Government !!!

Hi all,
Has anyone been successful being accepted at Shutterstock. I placed what I thought were very good stock (type) photos and many of them were rejected saying out of focus. They are perfectly clear and sharp. So I'm wondering if anyone might have some tips.

Thanks

Gary

I would like to make a comment on your second picture...I think it would have been better if the gorilla had looked up for a better look at his eyes. I've taken pictures of the gorillas at the Safari Park in San Diego and I'm almost sure that your gorilla is not eating what it looks like peanut butter...some people might find this part of the picture repulsive. As for being out of focus...I have a book titled: "Ultimate Field Guide to Photography" published by National Geographic. In this book I counted 26 pictures that I consider being out of focus, that's when I stopped counting, I was about half way through the book, but there are more. They (NG) consider the subject matter as being the most important part of the picture, not the focusing or lighting. I heard some advice that a "kit" lens will give just as good results as an expensive "prime" as long as you use it on a tripod. Did you use a tripod for your pictures? I like all three of your pictures and consider all three "keepers". I started shooting with a Nikon D40x and have now moved up to the Nikon D7000. I use "kit" lenses, I can't afford the "Primes". View the picture as a download for a bigger view.

Thank you for your comments. What you see is not a pole, it is the new frond emerging in the center of the palm. Member
"ftpecktim" got it right, it is part of the palm.

BTW, pictures were taken with a Nikon D7000.

I thank all of you for your comments.
