I have tried the digital picture frames but they only seem to last a year or so.

A variant of this to display pictures on your pc monitor as a slide show/screen saver when monitor(s) not in use.

As I have 2 monitors, I wanted independent displays, not the same on both. The only solution I found was DisplayFusion. Product has lots of other stuff but for my purposes it allows configuring 2 (maybe more) monitors to use my pics from 2 different directories at independent rates on the monitors. Delay for when the screensaver show starts, rate of change, ways to fade, name of pics, etc, etc all configurable. Works exactly as it should. Great solution for about 30.00 as I recollect.

I agree but since things have come very far in 30 plus years, what would sort of be equivalent to the camera. A low end entry Nikon or a D500 etc.?

Thanks for responses

Related issue as I have good insurance ( or will soon findiut).

What’s “fair replacement” for non digital, ancient but functional, well maintained, and still used stuff like this in today’s digital world

I live in Texas. My stored Nikon FE, Nikon 105 and Nikon 24 mm lenses got a good cleaning, er ah soaking, when the pipe burst above the ceiling. Eqpt in plastic container for “safety” ( didn’t work out so well...) and thus sat submerged in water for hours.

Are the parts of any value or should all just be chucked due to future issues with water logged eqpt?

Thanks

I use flash occasionally/ rarely - mainly bounce flash indoors for family gatherings

Could folks please suggest appropriate flash for the Sony?

I have a Nikon SB 800 if useful/usable.

Thanks for suggestions

I have a case similar to “Lowepro LP36930 Scout SH 100 Camera Case - ideal for X100 or other small mirrorless” noted recently. Would like go to my use on my ride around local lake. Does anyone make strap system that would convert this into a usable back pack for my ride?

Thanks

Deactivating the Graphics Card in Photoshop (AMD Radeon HD 5450) seems to be the "solution"

Sorry for all of the typos in original post

Downloaded Version 22

Initially would not load nay photo due "Could not complete your request due to program error"

"Resolved" this by not using Graphics Processor - frustrating

Next error is "Clone stamp error" shows when just opening a TIFf file - even though no functions including clone stamp have been invoked

Now trying to close down PS and get "Could not complete your request due to program error". Only solution is to reboot Windows 10 I7 PC with 16 Gb memory

Others have same similar rash of issues and a solution

Prior version of PS, Affinity and multiple other programs work fine

Sound like the Sony lens is the way to go on a Sony camera

There was post earlier in week re adapters

My question is are there any adapters that allow full function of a Nikon F zoom (18-200) with shake reduction functionality to mate with Sony 6400 that maintain full function, focus, aperture settings etc on both devices?

I suspect not but perhaps other folks have found a solution.

Thanks

Is there a Nikon F lens to Sony alpha 6400 adapter that maintains full functionality of the camera and lens?

Or am I looking for something that does not exist?

Thanks

I’m not a big shopper so don’t follow this stuff.

Does Prime Day on Amazon create better buying opportunities regarding name brand gear?

Thanks

Competent amateur photographer

For years I have used Nikon D200 with Nikon 18-200 VR lens. Converted D200 to IR and added a Nikon D300

Not unhappy with above eqpt EXCEPT for the weight.

One lens makes life much easier IMO

I got an Sony Alpha 6400 with kit 16-50 mm lens. Goal was lighter gear, newer camera features, etc.

But would like longer reach, ideally with single lens.

Suggestions appreciated for ~18-200 (or longer) Sony Emount that would give same/better than Nikon equivalent.

Thanks in advance

Several months ago I inquired as to whether or not there was a way to adapt a wired remote trigger/intervalometer termination to a different cable termination to allow for use on different camera systems. Answer appears to be no.

However there is a newish product from Neewer (RST 7004) that has multiple adapters to its cable termination. This allows it to be used on multiple systems and it does work on at least Sony and Nikon and presumably other systems as well.

Several weeks ago I wanted to know if there is some type of software that would allow independent screensavers to be used on two separate monitors simultaneously. I examined multiple solutions and the only one I found that works reliably is DisplayFusion which does exactly what I wanted and allows for automatic locking of the computer while the screen saver is functioning to allow for securing the PC. Product has multiple other uses that may or may not be useful to most folks. Does not seem to kill performance.

This would allow your screensaver to function as a digital display device for your images when not functioning as a PC. Better, it’s like having two digital displays. Software allows different rates of change, transitions, etc. for the photographs. Each slide saver can be configured independently.

A “limitation” is that the photographs must be JPEG format and need to be sized to the screen.
