How do others view their photographs?

This Friday morning Jean helped me hang up five photographs. They are all in 8” by 10” frames and they look good. They are hung on a tall wood wall to the Southern end of our main living room.

Maybe a couple more of my photographs will be hung in due course.

But, and here’s the rub, I have hundreds. In the main, taken with our Nikon D750, and while not all of them are of a standard to grace our walls, many are. Far too many to display on the wall.

So what do you do? I know that many of you are superb photographers and take some brilliant photographs. I frequently add my comment to a great shot!

But how do you display them?

Or how do you share them?

What about a high resolution electric picture frame rotating 100 photos at a time. Or more than one. Changing them out every month.

We have other artwork on many walls.

In one bath I put four 4x6 images of Maine in a 16x20 quad mat.
We have an electronic frame in the family room.
I'll mat favorites as 8x10s or 8x12s in 11x14 mats in frames or 5x7s in 8x10 mats.

We don't have a lot of wall space left because of the other artworks.

I'll share via my website gallery and on Facebook as my banner image (usually weekly).

When we want to peruse images (reminisce), we simply preview in Windows Explorer.

Motion activated digital frame, Slide show running on my computer, and a bulletin board with prints that get replaced - the least good shot gets replaced with a better one when one comes along. Don't have a lot of wall space - lots of glass and other kinds of framed art.

Put them on walls around the house, not just the living room. And/or rotate them every month or so.

Quixdraw, I would be interested in hearing more about this. I am interested in doing the same.
If you don't mind, where did you buy it, about how large a screen (some I saw are 10"). Aprox cost.

thanks

My digital frame now has about 10,000 images that take about 2 days to cycle through running 24x7. I never know what I'll see when walking by. I use a collection in LR and add new landscape-oriented work into the collection. Periodically, I just re-export the entire collection using a Export Preset to the pixel resolution of the frame, especially after adding a lot of new content or re-edited older content.

The manufacturer is Nix, actual screen size 8.75 x 12 the device itself 11.5 x 14, an inch or do thick. Takes an SDHC card, and I'll often load a trip edited but SOOC. It is motion activated and has a little remote as well. Can't recall what I paid, a few years ago, but not a lot. Here is a link. https://www.nixplay.com/collections/nixplay-smart-photo-frames
Note: It has a stand but can also be hung like a framed picture - uses an A/C adapter.

Did you ask Jean what she would like? After you get that squared away the rest should be easy.

A few years ago, with children and grandchildren in 3 different countries and friends in many other countries, and having to cope with 2 separate families (my wife and I have both been married before) we/I opted for a website as a way to keep them all up with our life and doings.
With 6 children and 9 grandchildren between us, well the pics get plenty of views. We have made arrangements for my eldest daughter here in NZ to continue the tradition.
My three children have 'ordered' prints of a few of the pics for them to hang in their homes. One daughter who lives in Bolivia uses the website to show her local friends life back in NZ.
I do have a gallery of 6 8x10" pics in my home office that get changed now and again plus 3-4 in the hallway as well.
Works well for us. Cost for the website is $US50/year.

Firstly, I copied my favorites into folders under a slideshow-folder and have them displayed as slideshow in two ways. They are all free, no need to buy anything.
1) I turn on Faststone Viewer slideshow on the other monitor(I used dual monitors) and select the favorable folder; I use Faststone for my regular viewing and keeping of my collections anyway.
2) On the Lock Screen of the System Setting, I select the favorable folder(s), so whenever the system has been idled for a certain time, it turns on the Slideshow; this one you can select the base folder and it will show all its pictures in the sub-folders.
