I believe the Olympus and the new Leica are the only waterproof P/S that have RAW option.

Andrea- so many opportunities . Start with the old part of GPI. Look for views of Asheville and environs from Town Mt. Rd.
downtown has much in Architecture and street life. you will also be near a BRPkwy entrance.
So much depends on your interest ,time, and equipment.

B&H - With the exception of their policy of not allowing parcel pick-ups at UPS stores ( no problem with returns from said stores) , they are an excellent company and I recommend them.

I have mixed feelings about the whole Photoshop thing. With the technology we have today, its hard to tell what is real from what is not. That said, I do have fun tinkering with Photoshop, as it allows unlimited creativity. Here are a few photos I took then tweaked with the program.

There is nothing 'real 'about any photography. Enjoy the technology .

Used them for almost 2 years. Many options and easy to use.I went with a very basic template when I started and really haven't explored all that is available. For me it is a site to upload-too many-pictures when someone asks about photos. Also, look into what 500 px offers for $100. per year -same rate as Zenfolio .http://slickrockphoto.net/

I have a 2year old iMac with a 27 inch monitor and would like some opinions on which monitor calibration units work the best.

Price is a consideration, but I would like to consider them all

I am going to Italy and am contemplating adding Venice to our itinerary, travelling with my husband and another couple. I have read and have been told Venice is smelly, over priced and very touristy. I realize that tourism is about all the Venetians have as far as "industry" but would like your opinion on the city as a destination. We have only nine days and will be in Florence, Rome and hopefully the Sorento/Pompeii area. Is going up to Venice worth it?
Thank you in advance.

Depends on the time of year. Go to 500px to see pictures,

Folks, I previously posted a photo of a male guitar player (Rex Thomas). Well today, I had the chance to photograph a female one. Heck, I don't care what sex they are...I just like taking photos of musicians. This is Sally Quick from the singing trio "The Quicks". The post processing is a desaturated grunge look I sort of like on close ups like this. Besides, the lighting was so awful this is my attempt to salvage the shot.

#1 - Good job!

We live in Coral Springs about 85 miles east of you. We keep saying we should take a day trip over to Naples. Where should we plan to visit to make our day interesting? By the way, I do like you photo of that gater.

Stop by Clyde Butcher's studio/gallery > Big Cypress Gallery
is located along Tamiami Trail (US 41) 47 miles east of Naples and 36 miles west of Miami at Mile Marker 54.5. The gallery is situated on thirteen idyllic acres in the heart of the Everglades surrounded by more than a million acres of wild park lands.

What are the differences (if any) between Photoshop, Elements, LightRoom, CS, and any others from Adobe?

LR is simply put a cataloging and processing app. Has PP tools most use for non-compositing photos. Plus book-making and slideshow production. For me, a must have.

I'm trying to decide to buy a 70-200 is usm 4.0 or a 70-200 is usm 2.8. There's about $1,000 in price difference between the 2. Is the 2.8 worth the difference?

Yes
