I am looking for equipment for framing and matting and I am wondering if anyone has any good experience with the equipment to do this.
I am also l am contemplating getting a large format printer and wondering about protective coatings for the paper.
Thank you.

Logan will have something in your budget for matting. Amazon for mats. Have been using my Logan 450 for over 10 years. They also make an oval/round cutter and framing tools. Cutting your own mats allows you to crop for the best picture not to some standard hole.

I replaced my epson tank printer when it clogged . I bought the 6020 and use mostly canon luster paper, great pictures. Quite often luster paper 8.5x11 goes on sale BOGO. I print a lot and the unit pays for itself the first couple of months in ink savings. GG

Seven or eight years ago, I shot Kite Day at the Washinton Monument with a friend. It was a solid grey ugly sky day. I had excellent sharp flying kite pictures. Last month my friend got Luminar and put blue sky and clouds behind the kites. Sometimes you cannot go back the next week or day for better skies. I shoot a lot of air shows and other travel where I can't go back another day. Luminar will be my next purchase. GG

I have a samsung hz10w 10.2 mp 10x zoom with a 2.5 Hoodman rubber banded to the screen. Samsung bought on sale eight years ago $100 Hoodman $74. Sharp at 10x , great depth of field on macro. I have several Canons including an 80D. the Samsung rides in my glovebox always there. The Hoodman keeps glare off the screen and steadies the camera at eye level. Just a realy nice light weight rig.
