I'm not sure what I would do to this photo...
Next time you see a turkey like this, I would drop the Canon and grab a Mossberg or Remington 12 gauge...LOL

I used FastStone, (@.org) a free downlaod, to sharpen and reduced gamma to 60% and increased contrast.
This helped to darken the blacks but not make the image to dark.
I couldn't get my Corell P2pro to work for me so I didn't clone out the fence post.
Overall I like your photo. Have you tried any colored filters on your lens?

A lower POV showing more lake, a pororizing filter to help remove the hot spot in the upper right while keeping the waters reflective properties.
But I do like this shot anyway you do it... It's your shot after all.

Nice work on the convertions.
Let me guess... Kodachrome 64...No, wait Ektachrome 125???
Love the color saturation in the first photo.

I use Picnik (@picnik.com)
They have several fonts and you can vary the intensity of the signature with a simple slider bar. I keep mine around 50%. Also you can set the size of you signature.
Copyright symbol is easy to apply too.

I see nothing wrong with the first two... Buit that portrait... How did you get my photo from the DMV???
I really like your edit on that one.

One thing for sure is you need to get closer.
When you use a zoom lens, the farther away you are, and use more "zoom", the smaller your DOF (depth of field), the less likely your subject is in focus.
If you use an auto focus, try turning it off.
Your composition is good but you might step down your light by 1/2 to 1 stop to avoid some harsh wash out in the bright parts of your photos.
Keep shooting and posting.
I've learned so much from years of reading what others say about my photography. Yours is welcome too.
Remember... Most of us are trying to help others, not blast them. It's just a comment.
Listen to all, try some new things and have fun doing it.

I like your humor... We'll get along just fine...
Sorry to hear about your other eye & ears going bad on you like that. Have you seen a doctor about them...???...
I can send you the raw image of the bridge if you want to play with it (just don't post it without a credit or byline to me).

That was one foggy morning.
10-15 minutes before this shot, I came across the bridge and couldn't see the top of it. When I pulled up to the little park, you couldn't even see the bridge at all.

Yup... That's the way I do it.
That's the best thing about digital photography. You shoot 100 frames, or more, and hope you get it.
Watch for very long exposures as they can get a bit of background noise.

B&W can be a hard thing to some to get. I started out in B&W 40 years ago and know it's not fun some times.
I use FastStone (@.org) for the color saturation. By boosting the reds and blues, then converting to B&W. This shot of a duck was full color. When turned to B&W with no color boost it looked flat and dull...no blacks just grey. After boosting color, reducing gamma and adding a smidge of contrast I liked the end photograph much better.

Can't tell you why the trees & grass are yellow... But if you go to FastStone.org, they have a great (free) editor that can help you. I use it all the time. It's very powerful and can help fix all sorts of problems.

All three are worth a good look. # 2 is the most fun, #1 kind of forces the eye to the ring by default, but a little busy, and # 3 is different. If the rats head was a little more to the right, he (or she) might look like it's looking at the odd light.
Hope to see more of your work.

Just found this site today and it looks like some great photographers are here... I hope to be one of them.
I post mostly on SOAPHOTO.COM and am a platinum member. I love learning about cameras and the way others view there world.
I shoot a Canon T1i and a Kodak P880. Both are great cameras. I use FastStone (@.org) for all of my editing. It's a fantastic (free) program. It's very powerful (and did I say FREE?).
I look forward to your comments and critiques. Don't be shy or hold back if you don't like something or have ideas. I learn more and more from your replies.
