One thing for sure is you need to get closer.
When you use a zoom lens, the farther away you are, and use more "zoom", the smaller your DOF (depth of field), the less likely your subject is in focus.
If you use an auto focus, try turning it off.
Your composition is good but you might step down your light by 1/2 to 1 stop to avoid some harsh wash out in the bright parts of your photos.
Keep shooting and posting.
I've learned so much from years of reading what others say about my photography. Yours is welcome too.
Remember... Most of us are trying to help others, not blast them. It's just a comment.
Listen to all, try some new things and have fun doing it.

the blue bees definitley need some white balance..too many pics to go back and forth to comment on them all..most seem to me to lack that tack sharpness, most have good composition especially the last one..and beautiful subjects.

love the colors and the "idea" of the pictures but agree they need to be sharper

I do like the DOF on these. The blurred background isn't distracting. If you had made the choice purposely to have the bees blue then I'd say you have an artistic quality to your photography. What are you shooting with? White balance could be the culprit on those blue bees. Focus and sharpness of your main subject is important and these flowers deserve that. Manual focus might be helpful. Sometimes Atuofocus tends to continue focusing depending on the mode your camera is in. Your composition is good for your subjects.

I love the photos. The color in the bees is what I noticed first, if that is what you wanted....good job. I have butterflies like that here. I cannot get close enough fast enough, well dome.

To solve the mystery of the bees, I did nothing to them. It may be your monitor because all I see on my monitor is black brown white and the transparancy of their wings.

As for depth of field I usually try to avoid it in my shots.
