If you have purchased a refurb, I can direct you to a program (free) that will tell you the # or actuations. Or, if considering, I'd ask someone at B&H.
I'm curious about that program. Can you post the link?
Are the prints you're having made going to include the photo and the text? Or are you having prints made of the photos and the text will be placed on the matte being used?
I'd go for the second choice.
Not sure if I understand what you're planning. Let me know if I'm close.
What lens are you using? A 200 or 300mm zoom and some cropping would get you a better shot. You might try to get an angle where you don't have a person directly behind your grandson. I realize it might be difficult to do that though.
Not bad...I would recommend getting a little lower and closer if possible. When taking pictures of kids, I've found it's best for the camera to be on their eye level.
It's an infrared remote, so I believe there needs to be a line of sight from the remote to the sensor on the camera. My D3000 doesn't allow me to trigger it from the rear, only the front. Maybe the D7000 has a sensor on the back of the camera too, I'm not sure.
And Bartulius, there really is no fence at the border there, not even on the property line. I'm not sure what is there, but a few miles to the east of where I took this photo is the place where 3 borders come together. The North Dakota border is the additional boundary.
Thanks for the comments everyone. I'll be stopping by the farmstead with the old truck again and trying some of your suggestions. My problem there is another, less photogenic wreck is parked about 5 feet away from the truck, limiting the angle I can get a shot from.
