Ideas for graduation cards

I like to make my own cards for occasions, and seem to have a block when it comes to making a graduation card. Any ideas? I have my son's old cap, gown, and tassle, but can't seem to lay it out right.

Welcome to UHH. I'm afraid I use Hallmark for my cards. Good luck.

How about putting them on and then removing them and dropping them on the floor like a teenage boy would do?

Perhaps a shot of Individual Garden pavers, (stepping stones) low angle from lower corner fading to upper right/left with cap and gown dropped/sitting on one of them (replacing actually),as Dave suggested... as in stepping stone to life/future...

These are all great ideas! Thanks - gives me some direction anyway. If I can just picture something in my head, I can usually eventually get it on paper! :)

Try Office Depot, that's where I find mine.

I like the idea of the stepping stones with the cap and gown

Do you have any of his school work from kindergarten, 1 or 2nd grade??? Put some out on his gown with his cap and tassle on it...Or maybe something that he made for you years ago...Just a thought...

Do you have his school pictures thru the years? Scatter them on a table with his cap and gown in the background.

So here's what I came up with...see what you think... and this is a card I send to graduates, not an annoucement for my kids' graduations.
