Missing Ohio and Lake Erie
Try
www.1000memories.scancafe.comHaven't used them but really tempted to give them a try. They sure would save me tons of time and aggravation with years of old film photos and slides I would like to save for the kids. Has anyone used their services?
One of my favorite photos on this site!

Opus, here is a shot of a kingfisher I took here in Southern Wisconsin on 4-16-12.
Tom, that's just cruel, LOL! Actually I need to get as close as I did in the attached picture. I have had hundreds of close calls, three that were poorly focused, and a whole lot of empty shy shots.
Grew up in Rocky River. I sure miss THE LAKE.
I have the same camera too. Its learning curve is pretty steep for me but I'm determined. I found a site that sells printed manuals that was well worth the time, paper and ink it saved me. It is from

Just want to add my admiration for what you are doing. This country would be a better place if there were more people like you. He is at such an impressionable age and the direction and attention you are giving him will make a big difference in the rest of his life. God Bless You.
and he took a great photo.
these bluebird photos are a treasure!
Looks like his mama got mixed up with a donkey!!
Great photo.
I like the windmills..they add interest. Almost looks like Texas!
That's gorgeous. Once live atop a hill on a dead end road near Charleston....before digital cameras. Love it there.
Coloring books have their place. However, my college art prof said the worst thing for kids is coloring books. Give them lots of plain paper (like end rolls of paper from your local newpaper) and varying media. Add a few starters...like draw your favorite animal, draw the sky, the playground, etc. Or write and illustrate a little story. Much better for their creativity.I did this for my kids and they are much more creative than I am.
