Has anyone had issues when installing the latest LR/PS upgrades onto the Mac Mojave platform?

The first question, are these ELN-15 or ELN-15a, Nikon OEM batteries? Or are they generic 3rd party? I have to ask since I only use Nikon OEM batteries in my D850 and find that they hold a charge for months when not used.

My experience exactly!

If you shoot RAW, most of these settings can be applied to the file in Post Processing. At least they can with my Sony cameras and the Sony RAW processor. This saves a lot of time trying to figure out compensation, vivid/landscape, contrast, sharpness, etc., before you take the shot.

Not if you blow out the highlights!!!

Looking to learn more about NPS service and members’ past experience with this organization both positive and negative. Please share...

I've been a member for five years. Upon return from Africa my 7-200 f2.8 had a focus problem. I got priority service with a 20% discount. I mailed it Saturday and received it repaired the following Friday.

I have 91 photographs taken in RAW from the 227 in total, and processed, where necessary, to show you.

My request is how to do it?

Do you want 10 or so every other day, or thereabouts, or the lot in one go, or not at all!

Your thoughts welcomed!

Pick your best five or ten and stop.

The ring is likely distorted beyond unscrewing. It will probably need to be cut off. You can do this yourself. Use a good pair of diagonal cutters and make two parallel curs down through JUST the ring itself about 3/8" apart (you don't need to cut all the way through, just as far as you can). Then use a pair of regular pliers to twist the section between the cuts. This will shrink the diameter of the ring and allow it to lift right off the lens. Make sure you remove all the filter glass first too.
I have used this method dozens of times to remove broken filters with jambed rings in my shop and it always works great.

After you have tried all of the easy methods, filter wrench elastic band, (both of which I have in my bag) etc., the cut method will work. I had to do it once.

I like #1 best but generally too much processing for my taste particularly i the sky.

Nice concept but you need a “gesture” perhaps the bowler setting up for the shot or the moment of release or what H. C. Bresson referred to as the “decisive moment”.

I'm looking for a top quality Nikon lens for landscape photography. Currently I use the D5600 with the standard kit lenses (18-55 and 70-300) but eventually plan to upgrade the camera body to the D850 once my skills improve. In the meanwhile I want to buy better lenses that I can use now on the D5600 but that also will work well on the D850 later. I shoot mostly nature and wildlife photography (I have a Nikon 200-500 telephoto for wildlife) and am looking for an excellent lens to use for landscape shots. What lenses would you recommend? The Nikon AF-S 24-70 F2.8 ED VR looks good but it's expensive! Is it worth it or are there equally good, more affordable lenses?

Don’t buy the VR version of the 24-70, it is a beast in size, weight and it uses 82 mm filters while all other “pro” lenses use 77mm. The older version is just as good and do you really need VR in the mid range?

Thank you all for your input. Ultimately, I did a factory default reset which corrected the problem. I have no idea what the culprit was but hav re configured the menu items to her preferences and it works fine.

Think about some things.
- what brand of batteries is she using?
- what are the published specs (A) for those batteries?
- when (what date) did you get the batteries?
- where (source) did you get the batteries?
- what battery specs (B) does Nikon require for the D7500?
- how do the (B) specs compare to (A)?
- are the batteries returnable?
- what would one brand new battery from a reliable source (B&H or comparable) cost for testing?

Using Nikon Batteries ELN 15a brand new, as prescribed. I will try airplane mode but the factory setting and that on my D 850 is disabled.

My wife's D7500 (9 mos. old) has been burning through batteries. She has been getting less than 300 shots per charge. I have tested her batteries in my D850 and they are fine. She does not use live view, uses single shot and I have gone through her menus to insure that there is nothing unusual turned on to use battery power. Before I send it back to Nikon, I am interested to know if any Hogs have encountered this problem.

I am looking for a camera bag to take on car trips. The catch is that it needs to be able to accommodate a large DSLR like a Nikon D850 with the battery grip, or a Nikon D5 and 3 average sized zoom lenses. It can be either a traditional over-the-shoulder bag, or a back-pack bag.

I no longer live in an area with a pro camera store, so I can’t go to the store and measure them. So I’m stuck ordering from the internet. I’ve looked at many camera web retailers. But they are all very bad at indicating what model camera would fit In their bags.

Any suggestions?

Go to B&H to research and then call one of their experts.

Does anyone know if the Nikon D810 is still being made? If yes, who carries them?

Listed on B&H but if not available look for a refurbished body on the used section on bh or Nikon USA.
