The ring is likely distorted beyond unscrewing. It will probably need to be cut off. You can do this yourself. Use a good pair of diagonal cutters and make two parallel curs down through JUST the ring itself about 3/8" apart (you don't need to cut all the way through, just as far as you can). Then use a pair of regular pliers to twist the section between the cuts. This will shrink the diameter of the ring and allow it to lift right off the lens. Make sure you remove all the filter glass first too.
I have used this method dozens of times to remove broken filters with jambed rings in my shop and it always works great.

I'm looking for a top quality Nikon lens for landscape photography. Currently I use the D5600 with the standard kit lenses (18-55 and 70-300) but eventually plan to upgrade the camera body to the D850 once my skills improve. In the meanwhile I want to buy better lenses that I can use now on the D5600 but that also will work well on the D850 later. I shoot mostly nature and wildlife photography (I have a Nikon 200-500 telephoto for wildlife) and am looking for an excellent lens to use for landscape shots. What lenses would you recommend? The Nikon AF-S 24-70 F2.8 ED VR looks good but it's expensive! Is it worth it or are there equally good, more affordable lenses?

I am looking for a camera bag to take on car trips. The catch is that it needs to be able to accommodate a large DSLR like a Nikon D850 with the battery grip, or a Nikon D5 and 3 average sized zoom lenses. It can be either a traditional over-the-shoulder bag, or a back-pack bag.

I no longer live in an area with a pro camera store, so I can’t go to the store and measure them. So I’m stuck ordering from the internet. I’ve looked at many camera web retailers. But they are all very bad at indicating what model camera would fit In their bags.

Any suggestions?
