I bought my first Hasselblad Camera set up some 40 years ago; Back when digital was still very much in just the idea stage. <snip>

Very accurate. The first one built was 1975. 39 years ago.

It is pretty clear that the concept of a designed system being greater than the sum of its parts somehow escapes you. The flow of AMAZING 7DII shots is clearly putting the lie to your jealousy driven comments. I am going back to ignoring you myopic-stuck-in-a-box thought process

Is there a way I can unfollow this post. I hate getting emailed everytime, for this nonsense?

Click "Unwatch" at the top of the page.

Or

Go to Watched topics up in the menu and you can unwatch any topic by clicking the link on the right hand side. Whenever you comment on a topic, it is added to your watched list.

Or

In your profile, you can scroll down to "Notification Information" and uncheck "Send e-mail notification when I receive a new reply in a topic" Then you will still be able to check any watched topics while not receiving emails each time it changes

Welcome. My best advise is go to the local camera store or big box and look them over. Play with them. Ask lots of questions. Take your time and get it right. It's your money so don't get pushed into something you don't want or need.

That was a "Camera Store" where they have people who know cameras, not Best Buy.

We still do not have a budget to help guide us. The OP already has some unknown number of Canon lenses. So the budget sounds like somewhere between $700 (for just the t5i using existing lenses) to $1,000 (for a D3300 and a couple lenses.) I think this makes the logical upgrade comparison more like a 70D or 6D @ $1,000 vs. the D3300 plus lenses @ $1,000.

But the OP seems to have left the building.

The focal length is the same whether the lens is on a crop sensor or a full frame. Canon's designation is accurate. What changes is the viewing perspective.

Or you can just say, "Honey, I will take care of purchasing my birthday present this year!"

But she might say the same for her birthday. She has much more expensive tastes.

Oy Vey! Try to convince her to go to Macy's as it's convenient and only 2 blocks away. If all should fail, pray for a blizzard.

Hershel,

Surely you know some people in the nearby garment district who could show her an interesting time.

Sorry. I was 102 in the last (1972) lottery. It never got to me. Stopped at 95. But I have always appreciated those (like my oldest brother, a Marine ) who served.

It will change depending on the direction of the action. But I understand you can do that on the fly.
