I am looking to upgrade. Currently have Canon T2i. Have extra lenses and external flash. Trying to decide on Canon T5i or Nikon D3300. Suggestions? Mostly use for concerts (indoor and outdoor) and kids. Also thoughts on Canon 70D or Nikon D7100.
Thanks, Jackie
Out of that list I'd go for the d7100.

Nikon owners will recommend Nikon, some Canon owners will recommend Canon.

Your current lens and flash can be used on the T5i. If you get a Nikon (my preference) you would have get new lens/flash, etc.
Of course if your flush with cash, by all means get the Nikon D7100, the D610 or the D750.
I mostly looking at t5i or d3300 right now. At some point would like to upgrade further. Black Friday has pretty good deal on D3300, 18-55 lens and 55-200 lens, both VR. All I would need would be a flash. I've always used Canon so not really sure about Nikon.

Each of those choices are fine cameras and all are a nice upgrade to what you have now. I am a long term Nikon user and the Nikon D7100 holds a back seat to no other crop sensor camera. BUT, with your selection of extra lenses and the flash, it may make more financial sense to move up to another Canon. Based on that, I would recommend the Canon 70D.
If you go Nikon, then take a good look at the Nikon SB-500 flash unit, only $249 brand new PLUS it has a built-in video light should you want to shoot video with your new Nikon.
Whatever you choose to do I wish you luck in your photography!

But LOL that omits Sony, Fuji, Pentax, Olympus not to mention Leica...

RJ, if I were trying to choose between a nikon and a Canon, I would not want to hear about Sony, Fuji, Pentax, Olympus not to mention Leica or Hasselblad.
Jackie, of the cameras on your list, I would go with the 70d. It's the newest camera on the list and the only one with articulating screen, WiFi and Auto Focus video(a first in the camera industry). That's a lot of value in a camera. Good luck. ;-)

I use Leica, but both Canon and Nikon will serve you well.
It is your choice, go to a dealer and play with both, choose the features you want and then purchase. Good luck and enjoy.
Welcome to UHH. Both are good and it's hard to go wrong. The D7100 is a fantastic DX camera. Probably the best DX made. Good luck.

Both excellent choices. Do the following:
1. Open purse.
2. Remove quarter
3. Toss quarter in the air.
4. Call it Heads - Nikon, Tails - Canon
5. See which side is facing up when it finally stops moving.
6. Use that result to guide your purchase.
NB - make sure the quarter has two different sides.
Seriously speaking - you can't go wrong with either one. If you have a Canon, you might find a newer Canon a little more familiar, but one is not necessarily better than the other.

Stay away from the 3300, go with the 7100...I have the 3100 it's ok...sometime planning to get the 7100.
