A short while ago I picked up a recommendation about Luminar as a good post processing software. I checked it out and liked what I saw, so I bit and ordered Luminar 2018 and Aurora 2018 (hdr software) all from Skylum software. Installed and ran great. The selling point was free updates. Well the software asked to download an update and voila, neither install runs now.

The error says I need open gl3.3 or later to run. I have open gl 4.0?

Well I contacted Skylum tech support via email. They sent me an email back listing files and drivers to update which I did. Still doesn’t run. They suggested I buy a different computer ( mine is 3 years old and nothing but this has a problem.

I asked for a refund, and they suggested I use an old copy of their software and forget about upgrades as they apparently don’t plan on changing whatever is causing the problem!

The sad thing is I googled the problem to see if anyone else had my experience. No exaggeration there must be hundreds of people going thru the same experience I’m having with Skylum.

Does anyone have a better suggestion for post processing software, with an easy learning curve like Luminar had?

You have an extra “h” at the end of your link, causing a 404 error. I think you meant :

Thinking back I remember when Nikon first went digital and I got my D100. Wow! Had to get a new flash as my old Nikon wasn’t compatible. Also needed new accessories as my old wasn’t compatible. Then a few years later as Nikon tweaked out changes their newer cameras used a different flash sync, so I needed a new flash for my D7100 and new remote shutter control etc., etc. I think it would be wiser to wait until they tweak a new mirror less camera before one blindly jumps in. It would be a real disappointment to me to find that with their proposed lens adapter only some worked, but not all or they didn’t work optimally.

On second thought, I hope everyone jumps on board! My chance to pick up some great Nikon glass, second hand, cheap! Life is great!

I always seem to be a dollar short and a day late. I bought a Echo pole trimmer recently just after a 20% rebate had expired. Could have saves $120.00 on that one. ;~( On a different note........................has anyone done business with Berger Brothers Camera? If so, is it a reputable company? Thanks.

I used to buy exclusively from Berger brothers when they were local to me. They were always reputable. I now use b&h and Cameta camera for the most part. They pretty much guarantee satisfaction, while my experience with Berger brothers is they sort of want you to be satisfied, but the guarantee isn’t there. They really don’t want anything returned unless you can prove it is defective. Just my experience.

FP (Focal Plane) is a sync mode that let you synchronise flash with higher shutter speeds than the camera's normal maximum flash synchronisation shutter speed (often called “x-sync speed”).

I use an ergo rest auto window tripod. I added the Arca Swiss Mount. It’s got a slot in top foot to fit over glass and bottom legs press up against window. I believe it’s solid aluminum, and rubber coated. There is an adjustment on the other side that allows you to alter the leg placement to adjust the tilt. B&H says no longer available, but I’m sure you can find it somewhere on the internet. Also there are several mounting holes in the unit to change the position of the camera. When not using in the car, I change the mount to the hole in the vertical visible in the first picture, and I have a one foot high tripod I can place on a table or on the ground to steady the camera.

I don't understand when someone is trying to sell a piece of equipment why they don't post a picture of the item??

I have a slightly different question about selling items here. I recently looked at an item for sale with a picture of the item. I was interested, but the seller insisted the PayPal pmt be made as F&F to avoid paying any fees. I asked the question as to whether this negated the PayPal protections. The seller went absolutely ballistic on me and I felt was nasty and abusive. Was I wrong for raising the question?

I’ll pass. B&H has it for $200 new. In this case I’m going to B&H, I value their satisfaction guarantee. But thanks anyway.

Am I correct.....if you use F&F you lose all purchase protections?
