Preferred Noise Reduction Software

I would like members input on their preferred noise reduction software. I am finding with my photographic style moving more and more to low-light photography and HDR, I am seeing more noise in merged images. Now, I have not performed a side-by-side comparison, but I was interested in what members have had good experience/results with.

I have used Lightroom's CC Classic, Luminar's Denoise, easyHDR's noise reduction and Nik Collections Dfine 2.0. Subjectively, my current go-to tool of choice for noise reduction is Nik Dfine 2.0.

I would appreciate your feedback.

I normally use Lightroom Classic CC. I'll remember your suggestion of NIK. I have it but never used it. I even paid for it when it cost money!

Jim-Pops: thanks for the link. Have you tried other NR software and is Noiseless really that good. It says the last update was 2016 so I assume they are dropping it soon. I checked Skylum's Luminar and the features Skylum offers in Luminar Denoise is much less than what Noiseless offers. At $19.95 why not - but just wanted to see what others you have used.

I've usedLightroom and Photoshop and something else not sure what one but Noiseless has done the job 95% of the time. You are probable correct the reduced price is because of a new version coming out soon but I don't think I will upgrade with this one working so well.

I think Topaz DeNoise 6 is better than the one in DXO and I own DXO Elite.

Topaz DeNoise works better than NIK, though most of the time I just use NIK as it is good enough. Correcting to much noise will cause you to lose sharpness. The biggest issue for me is I tend to use a wider angle lens than I should, and then end up cropping and resizing, thus exposing the noise.

You are correct, I apologize to everyone for not mentioning this. Possibly a new version will be coming out to go on both platforms.

Topaz DeNoise works well. Topaz has just introduced a newer version for Studio, which I have not yet tried.

With respect to those advocating Topaz denoise, they’ve just released Topaz AI Clear noise reduction. It seems it’s only available for use in Topaz Studio, which is free to download. You can try the AI Clear free for 30 days which I am going to do next week.

The ad makes it look great if true. I like the sharpening effect it shows in the ad. I think I also will give it a trial run.

Currently, I NEED such a program!
Can this program be used as a stand-alone or is used as an app with PS?
However, I do not know how to use as an app if it is.?

Thanks
