I normally buy my camera equipment from B&H. However, in my search for a "Killer Deal" on a D7200 I came across this on Walmart's Market Place. The price of the camera body was good, but......................check out the shipping cost. What a scam! I hope this doesn't violate any UHH rules.

I just text a Walmart text asking that they really meant $10.99. If not it is a scam!

Appears to me as a variation on the old "bait and switch." My sense is the seller hopes you'll be so taken by the low price of the camera that you won't check the cost of S&H.

That's a fairly common occurance on eBay. Low price high shipping. % taken by eBay on sale price, but not shipping.

During the past Mothers Day Holiday Week, you could have purchased a brand new D7200 for $796 from B&H Photo, with free shipping, and no State Sales Tax. And not a gray market camera either. The price has now risen to $996 today. And with the recent new Supreme Court Ruling, all States that collect Sales Tax, will now get it with online orders. If it isn't already implemented? A $109.98 shipping fee is unreasonable. More like $10.98.

Check what's in the box. The seller will be glad to sell you the standard "included" pieces too. The last time I phoned about a "deal" like that one I was told they checked and there wasn't one in stock after I insisted I would buy just the camera alone.

I always seem to be a dollar short and a day late. I bought a Echo pole trimmer recently just after a 20% rebate had expired. Could have saves $120.00 on that one. ;~( On a different note........................has anyone done business with Berger Brothers Camera? If so, is it a reputable company? Thanks.

I don’t believe that’s the case any longer.

Your comment is not true. eBay has included shipping charges in with the price of the item for a long time. Example: Item sells for $20 and shipping is $50 so eBay charges 10% on $70.

Reminds me of the famous Old West sign... "You pay going in or you pay going out, no one rides free." I always remember that when something sounds too good to be true. It is always final cost, not advertised cost. This has been in effect since the snake offered Eve the free apple.

I've seen that kind of thing other places. An item might be listed for $0.25, with a high shipping cost. It sounds like an Abe's of Maine or 42nd St Photo type of place.

I don't put much stock in BBB reports because people go there to complain, not to praise. This place has it's share of complaints, though.

I buy from the reliable sellers: Adorama, Amazon, B&H, Cameta, Costco, Crutchfield, Hunt’s, Robert’s

I used to buy exclusively from Berger brothers when they were local to me. They were always reputable. I now use b&h and Cameta camera for the most part. They pretty much guarantee satisfaction, while my experience with Berger brothers is they sort of want you to be satisfied, but the guarantee isn’t there. They really don’t want anything returned unless you can prove it is defective. Just my experience.

I did manage to call and talk to the person who handles the WalMart Marketplace ads. I was told that the $109.98 shipping charge was for expedited shipping and that that regular shipping was free. This, however, was not indicated in the listing. As I originally posted, it plainly stated that shipping was the $109.95. With that said, the ad now states that regular shipping is free and if you click on the shipping options then the $109.98 shows as expedited shipping. We all tend to make mistakes. It's how we handle them that shows our true nature.

There are 6 "sellers" for that camera on the Walmart website. They all say free shipping at first, but when you choose a vendor, they all charge some sort of S&H. Your best bet is to continue shopping at B&H, or one of the other reputable stores.
