Thank you Erich. I only began using Affinity when Adobe shut down my PS because I didn't have Windows 10, but I have found out I could reproduce almost all of the effects I could in PS, but under a different name and a different Menu structure.

How did Adobe shut you down? I am still running Windows 7 and whilst I cannot use the 2021 version, 2020 version still works fine.

I would certainly go for the Mk IV. It is a lovely camera.

It is actually John Galt who is a character in Atlas Shrugged.

Had my 5D Mk II for over a decade and have never shot a video. Have taken over 100,000 photographs though.

Hoya ND filters are pretty. Just about zero colour cast to my eyes.

Use the B&W adjustment layer in Photoshop. Easy to use and great to refine the initial output from the conversion.

It's an interesting question. When you do a comparison you still know which camera created which image and it's always possible to be swayed by that knowledge. Here's some fun and everyone can play -- a truly blind test. I didn't move the tripod but the cameras all mounted a little higher or lower so there's minor variation. Should be close enough.

I don't want to give too much away but one of those cameras is a FF 20 megapixel camera similar to what you mention above. Maybe you can find what it is you're seeing in one of these photos and point it out to us. Or just sort the images to their price rank as in the cheaper cameras you mentioned. I won't say it's the FF 20 megapixel camera but one of those is a $6000.00 camera and the others not so much.

I'm curious if you see something that makes one of them stand out.

The tree is beautiful. It's the tilting background that throws me off.

There is a tilting foreground. Can't do anything about that. :-)

It was indeed Gen. Loan.

"It struck me that the role of a viewer’s memory on image impact can be profound and cannot be thought predictable to the photographer".

Interesting point that I have not really considered until earlier today when I was out in the rain taking some shots. I was with my wife in the town she was born. I took a shot of a dog whilst my wife was around the corner. When I showed it to her she exclaimed "that is the same breed of dog that bit me when I was six and that happened almost on the same spot". She did not like the shot!

It should work equally well in any colour.

I think that in my shot I slightly darken the reds at the B&W stage.
