Thanks for your comments.

No black butter or capers. They are juniper berries and cardamon pods.

I constructed the background in Photoshop some years ago. I have about 20 different color versions of it.

Thank you for responding! Haven't been able to get Juniper berries in years, and I have only ever used ground cardamom. I thought they were dark for capers!

if you can't find them locally.

Penzey's has white and black cardamom pods as well. I try to avoid using ground because once you open the jar, the flavor dissipates in a couple of months. The pods are still good after a couple of years. And you can toast them for even more flavor - but this is true for most seed or pod based spices.
