I have an opportunity to upgrade my camera from a 7D purchased in 2010. I am looking at the 5D mark 4 or 6D mark 2. I focus mostly on nature photography and now getting more interested in street photography. I’ve been reading some reviews but would like to hear what other canon users think, (apart from the price difference)

Thanks

The move to street screams FF. So good choices.

6D - Because the 6D is 7 months newer (technology) and has an articulating LCD......and is all around more versatile ...cheaper to boot - but watch your ISO's ....

I have the 5D mkIV and have nothing but good things to say about it. It's still a great wildlife camera because it can shoot 6fps, which isn't far off from the 8fps that the 7D is. Nice pixel resolution, touch screen, colors, dual card slots, etc. I'd go for the 5D mkIV over the 6D mkII.

5D Mark IV, you can't go wrong.

5D-IV for me.
(But it depends on what is important to you.)

There's a big price difference between those two. I have the 6D Mark II and have no problems with it at all. Interestingly, my sister and I went on an African safari. She has the 5D Mark IV. If you mixed our photos together and tried to decide which camera shot which photo, you wouldn't be able to do it. So I'm glad I bought the 6D Mk II, saving a lot of cash.

That screen could be cool for street, but those who do street with no viewfinding at all might prefer the greater cropping freedom of doubling the pixels by using the 5D-IV. I don’t recall any mention of budget constraints from the OP. Street tends to involve a huuuuuge variety of working styles. A nooby should want to experience more than just one.

The only comment that I will offer is that my friend who operated a local camera repair shop (now closed because of the virus) told me that he absolutely loved articulating screens. He said that approximately 70% of his business was dedicated to repairing the linkages and/or the interconnecting cables for the last two years he was in business.

I would certainly go for the Mk IV. It is a lovely camera.
