Just intrigued to find out what we do use our DSLR/MILC cameras for? (don't count the "I wonder what this button does?" occasions when you accidentally find yourself with a video file)

I'll begin the survey with my "stats" - here they are:

Photography 100% Videography 0%

I have 2 cameras and neither do video and that's how I like it so it's easy, photography 100%.
To be honest, I get frustrated with cameras that do 10fps or more. It's virtually a video camera.

I occasionally use video, probably less than 0.5%

Photo: 99.95% - Vid: 0.05%
Too often I have forgotten to hold the camera level and have vertical action.

Never had a camera that you couldn't select a slower fps. Set it once to your favorite speed and forget it.

So, what's the frustration?

The frustration is people just need to enjoy and laugh at things a little more.

I, unknowingly, accidently, hit the vid button on the top of my R5 and don't get a still I was aiming for. Or get I insane videos of the whirligig of my walk. Hate it. Any way to disable the vid button? Never shoot videos on purpose.

The majority of the cameras I take on photo outings only shoot stills. So, it's 100% photography for me.

Had my 5D Mk II for over a decade and have never shot a video. Have taken over 100,000 photographs though.

Depending on the camera you may be able to turn off or repurpose the button.

Nikon DSLRs use custom control menu. Canon probably has something similar.

Its nothing like video. At 10fps, 20fps and 30 fps or any where in-between you will capture images you never could before, once you get accustomed.

Of course if you never shoot fast moving subjects its not needed.

100% stills for me. I wish the video button was programable.

Give me STILL photography. If I wanted to be a videographer, I would buy a VIDEO camera and do it right. My personal opinion is that camera manufacturers who promote what a camera can do 'video-wise' are pandering to amateurish inclinations.
