Shot taken at Batsford arboretum (UK) this Autumn. The selective colouring really brings out the effect of sunlight on some of the leaves.

Just going to start growing a little red Acer. That technique suits reds very well. How did you do it?

In Photoshop I turned it into B&W. Then painted in black to bring colour back in the places I wanted the colour back. Took a bit of time but was very pleased with the result.

I've done in Canon's DPP v4 and it works really well with red. Not so well with other colours.

It should work equally well in any colour.

I think that in my shot I slightly darken the reds at the B&W stage.

A simple but effective technique. Nicely done.

The tree is beautiful. It's the tilting background that throws me off.

There is a tilting foreground. Can't do anything about that. :-)
