Hopefully they will offer an IOS version soon.

I have one and love it. I have both Canon extenders. I’m currently shooting it on an EOS R. I bought mine used too. I couldn’t be happier. I primarily use it for wildlife, especially birds. I can’t recommend it more highly.

The $10 a month plan includes both and more importantly Photoshop. Use Classic with Photoshop on the desktop computer for the heavy lifting, CC on a tablet or phone for sharing or light editing.

I use this strategy too. It nicely satisfies my needs. I don’t use Photoshop but find good value in this plan.

I have been using one of the adapters (the least expensive) and see no difference from images previously shot with the same lenses on my old 5D Mark II.

I agree
With berkphoto. That’s basically what I have done for the past ten years or so. I always check to see what refurbish machines are available from Apple. That usually offers a 15% or so discount. I’ve never had a problem with a refurbished machine. They come with the usual Apple warranty. I usually purchase the additional warranty.

Ditto for me. RAW is what I shoot exclusively. When I need an image I usually am exporting a JPEG.

These threads are always interesting. I am amazed by the variety and creative ways folks solve this issue. I’ve evolved to LR. No, it’s not free but it more than meets my needs.

Don’t feel bad. I had the same thing happen to me—shooting jpeg when I wanted raw.

I use mine for a backup for my photos when traveling. The unit has a lot more capabilities. Their website has a great number of very clear videos showing the different capabilities and how to use them. It’s worth checking their website out. Their technical folks are very helpful. It a very solid product in my opinion.

I would look at the EOS RP also. The R series seems to be the way Canon is going for the future and they are bringing more lenses on line, both very expensive and moderately priced, all the time. I have an R and won't be going back to DSLR. There are supposed to be a couple of new R series bodies coming out this year. Might be worth it to wait and see what they are.

I second these comments. I recently made the switch from DSLR to an EOS R and will not be going back. I would wait for newly announced R series camera and make a decision then. For the record, I love my R. I use it with a combination of “old” and “new” lenses.

Yes. I had two Nikon FTN’s in my quiver. And a friend bought a Nikon 300mm for me while he was in Japan. Ah, the good old days.

Yes. I have more 16gb cards than any other.

I like the 32gb cards too. I’m not tempted to put too many images on one card. That way I don’t lose too much if something happens to the camera/card. I always carry two or more cards with me.

I’ve consolidated down to one camera—Canon EOS R— and a nice array of lenses covering 24mm through 400mm. My other photo equipment includes a tripod, a monopod and the 1.4 and 2x extenders. This combination works for me nicely.
