I don't understand why someone's Christmas card upsets so many people. Ken Rockwell has never claimed to be a professional photographer and even if he said he was the best photographer in the world......IT'S A CHRISTMAS CARD! He gives decent opinions which I have used from time to time. He seems like a nice guy with a beautiful family and I wish him a great Christmas and a healthy, happy, and prosperous New Year!

Ollie, I think that's really cool you gave your granddaughter your old camera. If your looking for a birder/wildlife camera, you can't go wrong with the d500. For lesser money the d7500 is also good.

The D3 is full frame. I had 2 of them (purchased when they were released) until they died. I currently own a D600(for backup), D750 and D500. They are excellent cameras but I would gladly sell them all to get my D3's in working condition. The D850 is a great camera but I didn't want or need all those pixels. For wildlife I'd choose the D500!
