I use Acronis True Image for backups and it has anti-ransomware protection. It identifies patterns of file name changing and stops it. I use software to rename photo files in bulk and it stopped it and asked if it should allow to continue or stop process and recover files from backup. I had the same type of sounds coming from my tower. It was definitely from the fans but they were not my problem. Having upgraded video, added internal drives, usb mouse and keyboard, 5 usb drives I had unknowingly increased the power demand on my power supply. The 350 watt power supply tried but was supplying low voltage to everything. When under stress the cpu heated up fast and kicked in all the fans. To shorten the saga I replace the power supply with a 950 watt on and have no heard a sound since except when I'm really pushing it. The motors runniong on low voltage tended to heat up. Just my experience.

Best get one that comes with all the jigs and frills. Most company us include them but read the details. Cant recommend one company over other. Look for deals. A lot have blemished sales. Fully functional but the color generally didn't mix well. Once the lower is drilled out the fun starts. Picking all the parts needed to complete the build. Some people buy everything from one company mostly assembled. I buy all my stuff individually from a combination of company web sites and ebay. I take months to build because I'm cheap and look for lowest prices. If you want to buy all the parts up front build would take about 1/2 day to full days doing it slow and relaxed based on your comfort level. The anxiaty comes at the first shot. "Did I build that right?" Enjoy, I do build with my son as a project. Next is a 1911 from an 80%. Cheaper to buy than build but where's the fun there.
