Big difference in people in each country.
In 1998 I was in Paris when France won the World Cup. People took to the streets singing the National anthem and thanking God. The city basically met at the arch de triumph (sp) with infants on their shoulders. At the same time there were celebrations because a team won a championship game. Stores were l**ted and cars were set on fire and others turned over. The difference between a European celebration and a US celebration. It was a trip with high schoolers and they saw the difference first hand. One never made world news and one did. You guess which.
