5 out of 10 by an older man with bifocals. Maybe I paid too much attention to the subjects? Seriously, you made a good point, I am not sure the general public would not be able to see the difference. Perhaps only if the image were enlarged significantly.

Nice job. I have 2 questions. One, I was told that buyers go nuts over photos that have the "star" from the bright chrome areas. Has anyone had experience with this?

Two, I know you can buy a star filter to create this effect but then you do not have control over it plus you will need one for eand lens. I have also heard that PS can creat this effect. Can any of you send me to a site that has an explaination on how to create this is PS? What is it called?
Thanks

Photos are excellent. If you were shooting again you might want them to move slightly so the bird house is not directly behind them and rotate your camera so you get their entire body. Over all they are fantastic, locals are jealous.

Brighten and increase contrast. Maybe sharpen.

I have a small one. Would have a larger one except for desktop space. I love it and would die without it. I use it for working on photos and often use it inplace of the mouse for regular work.

I agree with captainC, either you price it in the CD or don't give them one.Thinking you can control what someone does with your photos is silly. Is it morally wrong for them to copy, you bet, is it practical to sue everyone who does, absolutely not. If you try, the only person who makes money is an attorney. Even if you use small claims court it will take considerable time that you could be using to develop other customers.

If you feel guilty, give them a CD a year later after they have purchased most of the photos they want. If they are still married it should make them happy and get you some good publicity.

As for facebook and other sites that use your photos, don't be so anal. Consider the free advertising. I shoot thousands of HS sports. The other day and athlete was showing his friend one of my photos on his cell phone. The photo even had my watermark on it. He had went to the site on his computer, enlarged the image and then photographed the screen. I could have told him what he did was not legal but do you think that would stop it? I told him if he sent me an e-mail I would send him, one file of his choice, without the watermark on it. Hopefully his parents and friends will see it, go to my site and decide they want to buy some. In either case I prefer to move forward not look back.

I am curious Nikonian72, you and several others have posted a list of previous Ugly comments on particular subjects. I assume you are doing a search on Ugly and not storing these articles on your own computer. Is this correct and how do you do the search. I could probably figure it out myself but it is faster to ask you
Thanks

Correct. A filter on the camera and ploarized light behind the object generated either by a ploarized filter or naturally polarized light reflecting off of a surface.

Now want a speciat treat? Hold the plastic knife between the filters and flex it. The colors change because they represent stresses on the part.

The camera does not know there is a mirror there, it will focus on the subject. If the camera is 7 feet from the mirror and the subject is 3 feet from the mirror the camera should be focused to 10' for a clear pictue.

I shoot thousands of HS sports pictures every year and you are correct many HS gym lighting leaves something to be desired. First always open your lens all the way (f 2.8) and use aperature priority or manual. As for speed 1/320 may give you some blur on the extremities such as hands and feet but it is usually OK. If you can get it, however, I would shoot at 1/500 minimum. If you shoot in manual you probably will have to do a lot of post processing to lighten or darken because of uniform color of each team when you are in close.

A few months ago I was in a minor accident. Within a few weeks I was overwhelmed with solicitations from law firms and one medical office to help me make claims. Interestingly nearly all were out-of-town, some 1000 miles away. I wrote them a sarcastic letter telling them I did not do business with ambulance chasers. I wonder, would taking pictures of an accident on order to get business be ambulance chasing?

MISTAKE!!!!!!!! But to answer your question, you need backups of all key equipment (camera, batteries, flash, flash cards, lenses etc) It also wouldn't hurt to have a second photographer shooting from another angle. GOOD LUCK

Why did the 40D dissappear? For me it was because of a faster fps shoot and higher good quality ISO. Also, face it be it computers, phones or cameras, anything with electronics in it will age rapidly.
