Very good to know, larimarpugs. Thanks. I had heard the Lenovo name before but never in conjunction with computers until yesterday. And then I saw that Costco.com had one, too, so I started researching. There are some with negatives, of course, but many raving reviews and the salesman at the Microsoft store was very positive about them without trying to sell me anything.

Many years ago IBM sold their PC business to Lenovo. They make excellent laptops and specialize in making great ultra portable ones. At home we have 2 - X1 carbons and 2 yoga2 pros and they all work great. Among other makes we also have 2 HP's and a Toshiba and 3 macbook pros and a macbook air and a Dell and Mac desktops. The lenovo's are lighter than the macbook air and is the one I carry while traveling.

Good for you. I shoot full frame, often using a 500 f/4 lens with TC as needed also. I also shoot with a crop sensor when needed.

Whatever tool is needed to maximize image quality is utilized. When focal length is not enough or too bulky I'll grab my 7DII, it's just another tool.

If you can get close enough with the full frame camera, either physically or with focal length of course the full frame will rule in image quality. The crop sensor camera will rule with it's pixel density when you can't, with limitations of course, such as higher ISO's, DOF, etc. At such high focal lengths DOF does become a smaller factor however. Notice the small DOF on my previous post of the bird shot at f/5.6.

There is no logic, it's just math, science, and experience.

When people are discussing buying grey market cameras they every time talking about warranty. I would like to know how often do you need your USA warranty.

I have been a Canon customer for over 35 years now .... bought dozens of pieces of their equipment over this time .... number of warranty claims or repairs .... zip, nada, nil .... actually only piece needed repair and wouldn't you know ... just a few months after the warranty expired.

I am looking to sell one lens and purchase another more expensive one. There are no camera stores located near me, so I generally shop online. I have contacted Adorama about selling the lens and they will send a prepaid mailer to send it to them. Has anyone sold used equipment to either Adorama or B&H? If so, do you feel they paid a fair price for the equipment? I recognize they must make a profit on any used purchase, but I don't want to give a nice lens away either.

I have sold on ebay and KEH and have been happy with the results. Conversely, you can just list it on the UHH site. I generally see that selling on UHH yields better returns for the seller.

I think you may have forgotten the 200mm-400mm with the built in 1.4 TC.

At 10 grand, you'd want to forget about it ....

Just kidding, that'd be the one if you can afford the price and the weight compared to the alternatives being considered.

I usually carry a Ziploc bag with me when I go out shooting. I just noticed that there is another possible FREE source for equipment rain gear. The sheets and pillowcases that I recently bought came in a fairly thick plastic bag with a zipper. No, you can't shoot in the rain with it. I merely am suggesting a simple/free way to protect your equipment if you get caught in a downpour. It doesn't fold as easily as the Ziploc but I have a feeling I will put this new found bag to good use ... either outside or inside for storage.

Hey, good idea. Thanks for the suggestion. I have the rain sleeves the shooter mentioned as well, but you make a good point in putting that we all come across to good use.

David, I seem to recall this from a different discussion.
If you compose the photo and take it, the pic is yours, no matter where the memory card is but you better get it in writing!!

If the pic is clearly set up and composed by someone else and just says, ok, press here, that pic is not yours.

It seems there was some controversy because some dog had taken a photo by accidentally clicking a camera and where the copyrights went!

That's what I seem to recall. ;-)

I know this can be a heated discussion and has been discussed on here before. I did several searches and could not find this specific question.

If you, the photographer take a photo, you own the copyright to that photo. What if you are out somewhere taking photos and someone hands you their camera, and asks you to take a photo of them at that location. Who owns the copyright? You the photographer or the camera owner, because the image is on their memory card? Now the photo is so breath taking and the camera owner puts it on their personal website. So who has rights to that photo?

I would think you would have no claim over it.

Traveling too Italy this fall.

I have Cannon 6D / 24-105 lens
Also have 17-40 1.4 L Zoom.

Dudes here suggest I take 35 mm fixed.

What to do?

When I toured Italy I took the 24-105 and the 70-200 2.8 isii and the 7D, which is an APS-C body. About 70% of the shots were with the 24-105. I wish I had carried my FF also but hadn't (especially in museums and that too in the Vatican in Raphael's room to shoot the murals). With your 6D and it's low light capabilities, you'd be fine with the 17-40 and the 24-105.

I am curious to see how the other forum members would think about this idea. Do you think it would be cool to have something like a lapel pin that you attach to your camera strap to identify you as a "hogger". I think it would be neat to be able to spot other members out there, especially when you are at some event like a car show, air show, county fair, etc. I personally would be willing to pay say 20 bucks for a pin that says I'm a "hogger" member. What does the rest to this world wide community think about this.
Thanks, PhotoPhred

I am passionate about photography and hiking and have been trying without success to find a bag to carry a full frame DSLR, couple of lenses, a hydration pack and some survival gear. Appreciate any suggestions.

Though I have many Lowepro's in various types, for hiking and travel purposes, I have converted a padded computer backpack (reinforced with some additional padding) for use. I carry two bodies with lenses mounted and an additional spare lens. There are many such padded backpacks with hydration packs built in that you can probably use. Just hope that the hydration pack doesn't leak!

1982, Used my own Canon A-1, with the 50 mm 1.4 FD lens and about 20 rolls (36 exp) of Kodachrome 64. Had a friend who had never handled my equipment before shoot it for me and he did an admirable job of it.
