When people are discussing buying grey market cameras they every time talking about warranty. I would like to know how often do you need your USA warranty.
Twice in two years.
1) Nikon D800e (calibration)
2) Nikon lens (loose element)
About the first time you buy a grey market item would be just my sort of luck.
Pete
Never. However that does not preclude the need for such a service in the future.

Why don't you quit beating the dead horse? If you want to buy grey market, just do it! Put your big boy pants on and make your own decision.
So far (knock on wood), zero. I've only bought one Grey Market lens, the 24-105mm L. Have had it for over a year and so far no issues.

How many cameras and lenses did you buy with USA warranty?

Once with a canon lens several years back with a loose screw that found its way into the front element and another time with an error message on my 5D II that I used to own. That's not many considering how many cameras and lenses I own or have owned through the years.

Thank you for your reply. Did you try D800e fine tuning?

Since switching to Nikon in 1988, never. But I always use them for one free CLA at one month before the warranty on the lens or camera expires, just because I can.
