We’re still in our starter house built back in 1970. Same med cabinet and sure enough the slot is there.

I’m sure others have given this info. The plow shares you mentioned are what we specifically called “moldboard” plows and would have been pulled by mules. My double is for a 3-point hitch behind a small farm tractor. The more moldboards, the bigger the tractor needed.
Terrific photos. That was a hard scrabble life.

Wow, that’s not a direction I was thinking, but that explains the hole (for a real rooster spur) and the flat leather instead of finger shaped in my imagined application. Sometimes I think I must have led a real sheltered life despite being raised on a farm.
Thanks, all.

We were at the big Warrenton/Round Top sales last week and found a box of these. I asked the nice lady what they were and she gave me the box full. Old, various degrees of rust, finger sized, kinda wicked looking. Must be a dozen or so and I still don’t know what they are. Looks like you could tie them around your finger tips and do ...? Maybe something to do with prepping wool or such for textiles?
Anyway, somebody here is bound to be familiar with them.
Think I’ll see if Freddie Kruger needs them.

Your photos are always a delight to wander through. We’ve only been to the Archs and Moab area once and were blown away with it. Unfortunately, I was sicker than the proverbial dog from food poisoning so didn’t enjoy as much as I could have. So, I really envy you being in the area so much.
Question - are the two pronghorns in the rear wearing red bands around their necks? Locators I assume.
Ron
Definitely a wall hanger.

On man! You combined what I consider my spirit animals - wolves and ravens. Doesn’t get any better than this. You did good!

You have it backwards. Methanol (methyl alcohol) is ototoxic but mostly when ingested. Ethanol (ethyl alcohol) is what is found in liquor and medicinal products. It is not ototoxic but can play hell with your liver.
Methanol may be ototoxic, but the key part of that term is “toxic”, as it is poisonous, a solvent, can be an antifreeze, and is a fuel used in race cars. I’m pretty sure you’ll be dead shortly after drinking any amount. Both you and the earlier poster have led some people to think they could drink this. Do you want the responsibility of someone dying because of your statement?

Best squirrel (or church) joke I think I’ve ever heard. Read it to wife and had to try three times on the last sentence - kept laughing too much.

Linda’s suggestion has worked very well for me. I take a lot of animal and bird shots and invariably have to remove branches, twigs, grass, weeds or even barbed wire that crosses part of the subject. Pay particular attention to her second sentence.

Great set of a beautiful little bird. Gotta love the first three especially.

Noise has been the only complaint with my RX10m4. I really don’t like to go above 800 if at all possible. But, my keeper rate went up a bunch over my A6k and A77ii. Still, if I manage to get all the options right with either of the two crop sensors those photos will be sharper and give me more capability to crop into other compositions (I find I always seem to want to reach out further than whatever lens I’m using). Bottom line for me though is that I use the RX10m4 99% of the time. Might be time to turn loose of the others.

Probably the best moonshot I’ve seen on UHH.
