Around the corner and up the road, a resident put a makeshift hand-painted 'deer crossing' sign up on the edge of his property. Down that edge-of-town road, deer are far more plentiful than people, and besides, to use the word 'traffic' makes the place sound like it actually receives any, which it pretty much doesn't (apart from the plentiful deer and the handful of residents).
A few miles further out of town, no signs caution the unwary about pronghorn crossings. Maybe its because there are so few motorists. And besides, the antelope are already plenty wary.
This is lovely. The landscape is awesome and you managed to make it a wildlife shot, too.
And I was expecting chickens. 🤷🏼♂️ Beautiful work.

What a great shot and I always enjoy the narrative with your posts!

Beautiful image. No signs because the antelope can't read!
I think something should be done about those downtrodden, illiterate Antelope. Why should we (by we, I mean you and I) be able to read signs and keep out of trouble while the Antelope cannot? Personally, I think they should be able to write as well. Otherwise, how can they produce their own protest signs? So they can bring to light their downtrodden plight to public attention. I smell pork barrel legislation in the near future.
Cany, could you see any indication, without profiling of course, that some of those Antelope come from racially disadvantaged stock?
Oh wait...the signs are for DRIVERS, not Antelope! Uhh, let me think... not a problem, the Antelope shouldn't be expected to look out for their own safety anyway. I can still smell the pork!
Nice photo BTW.

It might be that you've been too long sequestered in that RV of yours, or been nibbled on one too many times by those Floriduh 'gators who seem to favor you, Chief, but it might've made you forget how completely
untrodden upon Ootah's antelope actually are. If anything, they tend to be more the trod-
ers than the trod-
ees here in sunny southern Ootah. Out there --out where the deer and the antelope play (poker, mostly, but occasionally board games or shuffleboard), and where the cows dance their bumbling bovine bolero and moo madly at the moon--, if anybody's trodden upon, its the Prairie Dogs.
Not so sure about any porkers out there, though. At least I didn't smell any. And as regards what reading/writing skills the 'lopes may or may not possess, I'd bet a good many are perfectly capable of reading at a higher level than that attained by many of Ootah's drooling, shoeless human spawn (and a sizeable number of their so-called 'human' parents, too).
But I digress. Will no one consider the plight of the poor Prairie Dogs???

For an extremely modest fee, Jill, I'd be glad to help arrange your purchase of this prime piece of (verifiably alive) rambling range.
Unfortunately, I'm not able to simply give something quite so precious away. I'm sure you understand.
The good news, however, is that I accept PayPal.
Your usual excellent landscape with a wildlife foreground - well done, Jim!
