Have that lens for my Canon cameras and love it. Use it on a 7DII and a 5D works great on both. It is a tank of a lens and does have some weight to it as does the Canon model. For the value I chose this over the Canon after testing both, mostly because of price. Results to me were equal. Also have the 70-200 Canon L f4 lens, that does a great job for me outdoors when I shoot sports on a monopod as it has no IS, again results are excellent. Between the 2 in my opinion the Tamron f2.8 is a better choice.

When I started out used the software that came with my camera, it served me well. Wanted more so started using the free versions of many other programs, just to give them a test ride, some were good and some not so good. Next up I purchased Lightroom 2.7, loved that program, seemed to do all of what I needed to do. Next up wanted more so I got Gimp, it's open source GREAT a free Photoshop, what a learning curve that sucker was. Years ago Adobe offered an old version of Photoshop for free, not sure if they still do that. Used that until I got a new computer and it was not compatible with it. Picasa I believe has a free program, which is OK. Today use Adobe CC, Lightroom, Photoshop and never have to worry about updating as the updates come automatically. New camera comes out and BANG updated. For $9.99 a month in my opinion it's a great deal as you will never have to upgrade and will have the latest a greatest. The cost of this for a month is what a 6 pack of Stella costs LOL...Good luck on your hunt, research and free trials are always a great option to test drive a program.

My 7DII is used for sports photography and that's pretty much all I use it for. Gone through the manual several times and understand the camera and it's capabilities. Have used manual settings but I find I get the best snaps using TV mode. Can change the shutter speed in a snap almost by feel which is important to me. Let the camera do the rest as I don't have time as I'm moving around to manual set every move. Set the focus point, servo and at 10FPS, works great for me following the player. I use a monopod with a 70-200 f2.8 IS VC lens. The 7DII is a sports action camera in my opinion and that's why I purchased it and love the results.

My favorite walk around lens is the Sigma 24-70 Art lens. I shoot Canon and this lens is outstanding and costs less than Canon glass. As far as resale NO you won't get as much BUT you paid less and might never rid of it. Use this on all 3 of my Canon bodies. I look at is as a great investment and never plan to sell it.

Purchased a Canon 5D MarkI about a year ago with 75,000 accusations on it. The price was right as cosmetically looked great. Sent it into Canon for a cleaning and to get the shutter count as I bought it used on ebay. No it's not the latest and greatest and at 12.8 MP's it's far from the other Canons I have. Today it's still working great and has passed it's half life. The cost was inexpensive and I took a chance. In my case it worked out well. Don't use it but a few times a month and am still happy with the purchase and it takes great pixs, for $285.00 it was worth it.

Purchased a used 5D a few months ago and wanted to know the shutter count as an FYI, the camera works fine. Tried a few of the programs suggested with no success. Emailed Canon and they said they would give me the shutter count at no charge BUT suggested a cleaning. Being a 12 year old Camera I agreed with the cleaning, which it probably needs because of its age. I have used Canon in New Jersey before for other bodies I have never had an issue. My camera arrived there yesterday, being the weekend I haven't heard anything yet. I can say their customer service is the best, they actually call you to discuss. As far as Canon being so secret about their shutter counts, that's a mystery to me.

Love Photography, started out in 1973 with an Olympus OMG. Loved that camera and still use it today. Since I have tried a few different DSLR's both Canon and Nikon. Both great cameras but decided on Canon and will never change. Have many Sigma, Canon and Tamron lenses for my Canon bodies and all have their place and purpose. My suggestion is decide on a brand and grow from there, most stick with the brand and lenses they have chosen because of the cost of changing. I'm a Canon guy so I suggest Canon and grow with that brand...Great camera bodies and fantastic lenses. Both Full frame and crop sensor cameras are the best as I own both and using FF lenses on a crop frame camera works great so if you decide to upgrade in the future to FF you are all set.

Over the years I have tried many DSLR's Canon and Nikon. Started out my Canon world with the original Canon Rebel (300D or D300) it was a great camera. At that time only had 2 lenses and one was the 18-55 kit lens which took great pictures. After purchased a Nikon to give it a try, shot about 2000 images with the kit lens and ended up selling it. Yes I'm a Canon guy and own 3 Canon bodies and several Canon, Sigma and Tamron lenses for Canon. If you have an investment in one camera stick with that brand as lenses are expensive, and Canon makes awesome glass, but not cheap for sure...My 7D markII is the best for sports and action, the 5D series is a great Full frame camera...If you're a Canon user and have Canon glass why change, just upgrade...

My 7DII is my go to camera. I shoot a lot of sports and a bit of wildlife. Yes there is a learning curve but as you practice it becomes the normal. Paired the 7DII with a 70-200 f2.8 and I get a bunch of great shots. Yes it's a crop sensor (pros and cons to that) but the sweet spot is crisp and in post I find getting rid of a lot of the background zooming in on the player(s) with very little if any noise. The 10 FPS makes this an awesome sports camera. Do still find going to my old 5D MarkI for certain situations a great camera, that sucker just keeps buzzin and a clickin...

As I remember the negatives on the disk are very small. They would be difficult to scan. I agree with the above post and have pictures made and scan the prints.

Have purchased a few items through Amazon and they came from Digital Goja...Not one issue and after research they are a Canon authorized dealer. Would not hesitate buying anything from them or through Amazon.

I have the Tamron and am very pleased with it. Use it on my 7DII and really love it on my 5D....It's a great lens at a better price than the Canon. Great results....I watched Tony Northrups review and others before purchasing...Tamron for the price is your best deal....

I agree, needed to replace my older Canon Speedlites. Because of the price decided to give the Yongnuo flashes a shot. Purchased a pair of YN685's and a wireless transmitter (YN622). I am very happy with my purchase and the flashes work awesome both on and off camera. You can pick this setup for about half the cost of 1 Canon Speedlite. Almost certain you can get a YN685(N) for your Nikon and if interested the transmitter also YN622(N)-TX. I purchased mine through Amazon Prime.

Have been using Wasabi Batteries for years in my Canon T5I, 5D and 7DMarkII and have never had an issue. The cost is much less than Canon batteries and last just as long. The charging time is about the same. When buying a Speed Flash that maybe came with a Duracel, Energizer or private label 1.5 volt battery(s) would you hesitate using a Eneloop? I think OEM batteries are over priced.

I agree....Amazon for all your battery needs. Difficult to find batteries, Amazon for sure. I have 3 Canon camera bodies and bought all my extra batteries from Amazon and all worked 100% with no issue. Purchased a dozen 123"s for less than $17.00 for my home security system (Amazon brand) and they're still buzzin and a clickin. You can go to your local camera shop, drugstore or Walmart etc and pay through the nose (if they have it) for what you need BUT Amazon will have what you want at a much cheaper price. Plus Amazon Prime gives you free shipping and 2 day delivery, even Sunday delivery, and no sales tax in some instances.
