Thanks Richard, I never got a reply re you question before Christmas, I think the Club forgot about it over time...
My club, The Sporting Car Club Of South Australia has a branch down Goolwa way so I wondered if any of those cars were from there...

Thanks Ron.

British cars were a common sight on Australian roads for 50 years from the 1920s to the early 1970s. During the 1950s British cars outsold all other makes in Australia.

Most of the cars in my photos have either been restored or lovingly maintained from new. Some have been patched up and kept going by dedicated fans but there were thousands more that met with a less glamorous end. Some were left to rust away in back yards or on farms, some finished up in wreckers yards being victims of a crash or total failure, others were cut up for scrap metal.

This is the end of my on going series of photos depicting British cars in Australia - I have run out of suitable photos. Thanks to all who have commented and provided feedback. Cheers, Richard.

Dear Thorny Devil

The Morris Minor and the Austin A70 Hereford Utility were wonderful.
And the 100+ year old pu pathed in the open she’d made me want to see what a restored version would be like.

This series was an Herculean Effort on your part.
I regret that it has to end- - and I do appreciate each and every picture you included in this wonderful collection.

Thank you for your feedback and support Charley. I grew up in 1950's - 1960's so I was familiar with many of the cars that I had photographed but I enjoyed updating details as I researched each vehicle to identify model and year of manufacture.

Would you please clarify which vehicle you would like to see restored - were you referring to the 1926 Rugby truck?
