British cars were a common sight on Australian roads for 50 years from the 1920s to the early 1970s. During the 1950s British cars outsold all other makes in Australia.

The TR6 and the Morgan do it for me. I try to identify your photos of cars before I read the descriptions and this time, I did OK. Not always though. Keep 'em coming Thorny. I've never been a fan of the Stag...I think Triumph tried too hard with that one.

One learns new things every day. I saw your photo of the Daimler, and thought to myself, "British?" Yep. Although the cars that roll off the assembly line near Stuttgart, Germany are often known as "Daimler-Benz" or "Mercedes-Benz," Daimler was the forerunner of the British Jaguar, out of Coventry. The source of this information comes straight from Mercedes!

Yet another fabulous, and fun set.

Lus some cool vehicles I was unaware existed.

You are my ‘nostalgia hero'.

Great set! I’ll take the Morgan please. Amazing how much the Daimler looks like a Jaguar MK II from that angle. Having read the comment above about Daimler (which I didn’t know), I see why.

Thank you for your comments Ava's Papa. Unfortunately the Triumph Stag also had a reputation of engine problems in Australia. Some owners swapped out the original engine with the Rover V8 or Ford variants which improved their reliability.
