British cars were a common sight on Australian roads for 50 years from the 1920s to the early 1970s. During the 1950s British cars outsold all other makes in Australia.

Most of the cars in my photos have either been restored or lovingly maintained from new. Some have been patched up and kept going by dedicated fans but there were thousands more that met with a less glamorous end. Some were left to rust away in back yards or on farms, some finished up in wreckers yards being victims of a crash or total failure, others were cut up for scrap metal.

This is the end of my on going series of photos depicting British cars in Australia - I have run out of suitable photos. Thanks to all who have commented and provided feedback. Cheers, Richard.

Not one specific club Ron. I took photos when I happened to be in the right place at the right time as well as some in museums. My wife and I were holidaying in Port Elliot when we heard about a rally of British cars to be held in Victor Harbor. I think that event was hosted by the local Historic Motor Vehicle Club. We also came across a rally of a wide selection of classic and vintage cars one time when we were visiting McLaren Vale and many of the Jaguar cars displayed Jaguar Owners Club labels. Thanks for commenting.
