I use Nikon D750 for several years, I heard D500 is very super, but when I read review and comparation, they are almost equal. So can someone explain to me how is the D500 better than the D750, and advise me should I buy the D500 ? I shoot kids, family and church events, party and wedding once in a while, not much of sport beside my grand child soccer ball game, street view and landscape, and portrait, so with those, which camera do I need ?

I have both, along with a D810. Use all three for different things. With your grandchildren in view, I would use the 500 all of the time with FX glass. It focuses faster(especially with back button focus) than the 750. You could then have 2 bodies to use, giving you great flexibility at times when you want it. I have a tendency to carry 2 most of the time because I do landscape and wildlife at the same time.

And then there's this. 10 1/4" hand span, size 14 1/2 wedding band. That ring won't pass the first knuckle on 6 of my fingers or even start on my thumbs. I've held the mirrorless cameras of all that are listed. I'll never own one. To small for me to feel comfortable with, or operate. I'll stick with my big fat, clunky D7200, D500, and D810, each with a grip so I can have them firmly in hand. They take great pics, even with a mirror.

The 1st one, an Ansco, was likely built here in Binghamton, NY. The factory still stands and has been converted to nice apartments. I see them on eBay, and have thought about picking one up for the nostalgic value.

The "Old Timers" show in East Smithfield, Pennsylvania used to have a parade of these beauties. Mechanic I used had one in his garage, a Case tractor also. The inspection of the steam system is quite intense. Some serious shrapnel if one blows under pressure!

Silos? Tanks? Good questions. I don’t know, but now I’m curious. I’ll have to go back and check.

When I don't feel like being in manual, I grab the D5300 and select scene and go to sport . For wildlife it works super. If you take your time and watch the settings the camera uses you'll get the education you need to start with.

If only your photo could transfer that aroma! Went through a stretch of mustard fields in North Dakota in 2011,and oh what a beautiful scent. Your pic brings back some great memories. Thanks!

I have a 1.4 for my Sigma 150-600 contemporary that I use on my D500. Have gotten good results, even though it does slow down some. Focal equivalent of 1240mm. Kayaking in 18" wakes with some loons last summer/ fall I was amazed with its focus(D500 doesn't really care, it just focuses) and got some beautiful shots

We have a 3200, 5300, 7200, 500, and an 810, and we use all of them. Even though the first 3 have the same sensor, the amount of control for each is quite different in its ease of access. The 7200 is a fantastic camera with fairly easy control. The 500 is my wildlife baby and the 810 gets used for whatever I want. My wife uses mostly the 7200, although sometimes I 'borrow' it. Highly recommend either the 7200 or 500.
