I use Nikon D750 for several years, I heard D500 is very super, but when I read review and comparation, they are almost equal. So can someone explain to me how is the D500 better than the D750, and advise me should I buy the D500 ? I shoot kids, family and church events, party and wedding once in a while, not much of sport beside my grand child soccer ball game, street view and landscape, and portrait, so with those, which camera do I need ?

I’m not telling you which one to go with, this is just my opinion on the two cameras.
The D750 is a FX camera, the D500 is a DX camera.
If both are almost equal, I would stay with the D750 FX camera.

Just my two cents but I will part with my D750 when one of us dies.

Honestly, I would spend the money on better glass. I have never regretted buying the best lenses that I could afford.

Do you own any FF or DX lens.? DX lens can not give full resolution on the 750. They are designed for the smaler sensor format. the 500 will compensate to DX format but you loose pixels.

Shutter speed is about the only real advantage for the D500.

Not shutter speed, but the frames per second (both can shoot the same shutter speeds). So a D500 would be better for shooting sports and wildlife that is moving (ie. birds in flight). Also, the D500 can put more megapixels on a distant subject. So again for wildlife the D500 would be better. But for the OP, sounds like the D500 would not be appropriate.

Keep the D750 you already know it's capabilities. If you want to spend some money get better lens, you will never regret that.

Sorry.....that's what my old brain meant to say.

For what you shoot, your good. Wildlife or fast action the D500 might be better.

I would keep the D750 but if you just want to spend money, upgrade to the D780, you will really like it.

Isn't more capable video the biggest plus of the D780 over the D750?

A good friend told me years ago not to get a new camera, get a better lens instead. I've not always followed that advice.

I hava the 610 and the 850. the 610 takes pictures as good as the 850 in mormal conditions. really the only difference is capabilities in low lite. the other differences are just conveniences.

For the indoor work mentioned by the OP, I'd much prefer a full frame camera like the D750.

If you don't need high frame rate or extra telephoto reach with the DX then the D750 is a better camera.
