The best way to compare cameras is to check the technical specifications on the Nikon website.

I use Nikon D750 for several years, I heard D500 is very super, but when I read review and comparation, they are almost equal. So can someone explain to me how is the D500 better than the D750, and advise me should I buy the D500 ? I shoot kids, family and church events, party and wedding once in a while, not much of sport beside my grand child soccer ball game, street view and landscape, and portrait, so with those, which camera do I need ?

Sounds like GAS.
I'd have one of each if I wanted either one/both. Two camera bodies is not enough.
But to the point, you have no serious use for a D500.

If you consider they are similar, then the D500 would be a sideways move. I shoot many of the same things you do with my D750, and would never consider getting a D500. As already mentioned, the D500 could have a longer reach with the same FX lenses you use, as it is DX, but has the same mp as the D750. If longer reach is what you want, just get a longer FX lens for your D750.

The reason to get a D500 over a D750 would be if you shot sports or wildlife. The D500 probably also shoots better in low light. However, if you're not shooting moving targets, a tripod can take care of that problem. BTW, I bought my daughter a D7500 several years ago and it's a fantastic crop camera.

If you base the decision on dxomark alone then the Nikon Z7 the original version has a score of 99 and the Z9 has a score of 98.

I have both, along with a D810. Use all three for different things. With your grandchildren in view, I would use the 500 all of the time with FX glass. It focuses faster(especially with back button focus) than the 750. You could then have 2 bodies to use, giving you great flexibility at times when you want it. I have a tendency to carry 2 most of the time because I do landscape and wildlife at the same time.

Look at how dxomark awards the points. It doesn't impress me. If comparing two Nikon cameras, I'd rather compare the technical specs provided on the Nikon website.

I appreciate all of your ideas and suggestions. I had a chance to buy a used D500, but I didn't. I agree that lenses are very important. I am gradually moving to mirrorless, Sony A9, A7R3.., that is another reason I stop buying anymore Nikon or Canon. Getting old now, so I cannot carry those old heavy bodies. Wish you all nice shooting and great health to pursue your dream ...

The idea is waste of time and money, given your expressed usage. You have Nikon's finest 24MP full-frame DSLR. The D500 might be the finest Nikon DX 20MP DSLR, but no one ever says a DX is as good as a full-frame. If you need a longer lens for soccer, focus your purchase efforts on a 400mm lens, not a cropped DSLR. A D750 is more than capable for sports action, a dedicated camera wouldn't be necessary.

Do you own any FF or DX lens.? DX lens can not give full resolution on the 750. They are designed for the smaler sensor format. the 500 will compensate to DX format but you loose pixels.

Read the OP.
