I took some photos at my grandson’s soccer game, and afterwards edited them in Lightroom. I was shooting at 3200 ISO, and ran the photos through Lightroom’s Denoise. I thought the photos came out fine, but here’s my question: once I started the Denoise process, I got a message that said: “Time remaining 9 minutes.” Are other users finding that it takes approximately 9 minutes to run that process? I don’t know if that’s typical, or due to the specs of my Mac.

Thanks for your comments.

Actually, it's the number of photos in the group. Less photos faster, more would be slower. I've had up to 26 minutes for a large group of photos.

Consider On1 NoNoise. I find it to be better than DXO; however, I have not tried the new version recently released of DXO.

I can only say good things about the service. The tech support is top notch. No complaints, only good things to say about them.

I would suggest stopping at Service Photo. They can do a quick diagnosis (usually no charge) and will suggest if you need a service technician to look at the camera.

It is more reliable. It works well when I have a specific need to send a single photo. I do not use it on a regular basis.

Have you thought about Photo Mechanic? I use that for extensive keywording among several other Metadata opportunities.

I agree with everything your saying; however, some of my clients require the date and time stamp on photos. If its required, then I do it since they use it and feel its adequate proof of completing an assignment. It provides a basis for the paycheck! "The Client is always Right."

Working in security, I sometimes need to have a date/time imprint on my pictures with my Nikon D780.
I cannot find where on a menu to do this. Any suggestions.

Mogrify will work with the latest Lightroom. I use the date/time imprint daily.

I found the issue and it has created the need to do additional research. I've been saving the photos to my external drive; however, my backup program is moving the files to another drive. All of the files are now on another drive connected to the system. I now need to discuss with the provider for the backup. Thanks for your help and your assistance made me dig harder.

The pop-up is sending me to the correct location. The file is not being seen within Lightroom; however, within Explorer it is there.

I do not see any xmp files from after the creation of the dng. I do see xmp's at the time of the original import of the nef files. I believe that is correct since dng's have the xmp's included with the dng.

1. Camera to LR to Aurora and back
2. Inside LR, both DNG's and Tiff entries are in the same directory on a portable drive.
3. Exclamation - pop-up unable to locate image in directory. If I go to Explorer the tiff is in the directory.
4. No clues were noted.
5. The only way I can resolve is to import the tiff file(s). This does resolve the issue.

Recently several dng's that were merged to create HDR's using Aurora have lost their connection within Lightroom. The DNG's are connected; however the tif's cannot be found. When I click on the ! to connect they cannot be located within the directory. If I look in Explorer (Windows 10) they are in the correct directory right behind the DNG's.

Does anyone have any ideas how I reconnect within Lightroom. I know that I could import the tif's as a new collection within the group. I would prefer not having to do this step.

Any thoughts?

I use PM as my front end for just about everything(Metadata, GPS, etc.). I then send my photos to LR. It's easy, quick and I can cull the unwanted much faster than when using LR. I would get the trial from PM and pay the one time cost for the program (Current version 6 Build 5378). If you had a license at some time you may still be in the database and may be pleasantly surprised.
