Being an senior citizen and not having been initiated to the rules of sending a 20+ MB through the net, it has come as a shock that Windows won't allow me to do so. Does anyone know of a way to do this for free? Does anyone have a favorite way of doing this for a nominal fee; name of program and fee would be appreciated? Thanks for your reply. Bill.

I use www.wetransfer.com you can send large files or large number of files...for free

Robin Wong posted a thought provoking video on YouTube about the reasons why the camera market is shrinking...I’d be curious on people’s reaction if you’ve seen it or if you haven’t seen it here’s a link for you.

hard to get a real time post, short of calling hotels in areas I am willing to visit; anyone living along the PA Turnpike Corridor between Harrisburg and Pittsburgh who can say what the color looks like now ( Wed, Oct 9 ) ?

I was in Benezette, PA (Elk County) last weekend (3 hrs north of PA turnpike and Harrisburg) and the colors were nice but should be beautiful this weekend...and you might see some beautiful Elk in rutt and keeping an eye on their harem roaming the countryside as a bonus

I am trying to get some advice/information on a African photographic safari.
Where is it safe to go.
Name of good tour company
Best time of year etc.
I have been researching for approximately a month now and most tours sound about the same. Who actually delivers what they promise and do you get your money worth.

I have been to Kenya and Tanzania twice in the past three years and made arrangements directly with a safari guide in Kenya...James Muchina who also is a very good photographer and he specializes in photo safaris. He is very reasonably priced, has a new Safari vehicle and a nice guy! Here is his email address. muchinajm@gmail.com

My wife and I are heading out of Chicago to La Junta, Colorado on the Southwest Chief on an 18 hour train ride. We’ll be chasing a setting sun as we head west...in theory it sounds like it could a fun trip with Photo opps...unfortunately, from the observation car a person needs to be shooting through windows and train cars are constantly moving. Any suggestions on how to best minimize the obvious challenges?

Any ideas for easy ( portable, light, travel-friendly) solutions to stabilise a camera in a boat that’s moving on the sea ? Despite avoiding taking my full frame heavier DSLRs and lenses, I opted to take a Sony RX 10 mark IV. Very poor keep rate. Even when the boat slowed down or stopped it was rocking because of the waves. Really difficult to get tack sharp photos because of camera shake. A tripod would be very impractical (May not even be allowed).

We were just doing this a few weeks ago off of San Juan Island, WA and you’re right tripods would have been rendered useless. I shot in aperture priority and cranked up the ISO to 3200, f/5.6 which put my shutter speed at 1/8000 sec and used a 400mm prime lens. I did not capture any award winning whale images but at least they weren’t a complete blur with the boat bobbing around on the choppy water.

You have motion blur in the extremities. I shoot sports as a second job for several media outlets. I don't believe I have ever had a situation that called for F9 when the subject is in motion. And anything below 1/1000 shutter speed is risking motion blur. One of the most important things in shooting sports is to separate the subject from the background. Go to manual, open up the F Stop to F 2.8 or F 3.5 leave it on Auto ISO. Make sure you are on AI Servo and Case 4. Use the single focusing point with the 8 surrounding points and put it center mass of the chest and get low.

Thank you PaulR01...its the motion blur that bothered me the most...your suggestions are very helpful!

The image is a very good action shot. So, one has to wonder if you are seeking affirmation. If so, here it is: Very good action shot of you Grandson. Well done.

Kmgw9v...No affirmation sought...if I simply were looking for ego stroking affirmation I get that from close friends and ‘next of kin’ who think I walk on water when talking photography. I would like to think I could ask a simple question in UHH in an attempt to improve my pictures. I was hoping for a ‘tack sharp’ image and I didn’t think I achieved that in the image in question.
