Being an senior citizen and not having been initiated to the rules of sending a 20+ MB through the net, it has come as a shock that Windows won't allow me to do so. Does anyone know of a way to do this for free? Does anyone have a favorite way of doing this for a nominal fee; name of program and fee would be appreciated? Thanks for your reply. Bill.

Windows isn't preventing you from sending a large file. It's your email program.

I use Dropbox - you get a free 2 gb account just for signing up.

https://www.dropbox.com/basic You can get additional space if you recommend people that sign up using you as a reference, and there are some promotions that give you more space. But the best part is that it's free.

Thanks for the reply. Wish there was a way that I could have AOL increase the size; if they are the culprit.

Consider why you want to send a 20MB image attachment? Does your intended recipient need a file that size to see your image? The techniques and reasons to reduce your file sizes are discussed in this post, along with screen captures of popular software to accomplish the resizing: Recommended resizing parameters for digital images

I thought AOL was gone ten years or more ago.

Still being used in "You've Got Mail". Just ask my wife. I see her watching it at least twice a year.

Set up a Gmail account. Upload the pictures as attachments. Gmail will warn you that that exceeds the attachment limit which is 25mb. Then you can set up a Google drive account or Google will hold the email with attachments as a draft. Then give the recipient the Gmail account info, your user name and password. this enables the recipient to access the account and download the pictures from the draft that is in the drafts folder. You can use the same technique to send executables if you don't care to change the extension to a non-executable.

Believe it or not, AOL handles all of the Verizon fios email accounts.
Even though the email is xxxxxx@verizon.net, members log into AOL to make changes.

There is no doubt the limit is your email server/host. I have been using DropBox for at least 10 years. It has grown from 1M users in 2009 to 500M in 2016, and it runs on Android, IOS, Mac, Windows. Back in 2007, it was one of the first "cloud-based" file storage and sharing application.

Here is a link using dropbox to a 30 mb file that I will share with you:

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4c6q3v84kzch4f8/AADqkuaRutacp8_WCqNq7buda?dl=0

All you need is a computer, tablet or phone on your end - you don't even need a dropbox account. I can't think of an easier, better solution for what you want to do.

Aside from file sharing, which is why I started using it, if you opt to get an account, you can also use it to sync files among devices, set up a folder share that you can invite one or more people to join, run a rudimentary slide show, etc.

I really like https://wetransfer.com/ because it is free and it is VERY simple to use. You can send large files, many files, you don't have to join, have a password, have a sponsor, secret handshake, etc. Most of all the recipient doesn't have to have an account, just an email address.
