Hello Treepusher, thanks for commenting. My objective is to depict places and people as they are. My image shows these interesting people in their environment (natural habitat?). I can't pick the background and graffiti is an intrinsic aspect of Brick Lane. Also, I can't more than a split second to capture the image as once they see the camera the moment is gone.

Whilst I will try to add impact and drama to an image I won't try to beautify it. As to colour, I had always envisaged this in monochrome, the gentleman on the right was wearing a very brilliant orange T shirt and this totally dominated the picture to the detriment of the other subjects.

Thanks again for your input.

Graham
Hello Treepusher, thanks for commenting. My object... (show quote)

Totally agree with you Graham, I love real life photos.
If you want to ponce up pics in Photoshop then you don`t even need a camera, just download off the net and mix em up how you like.
Like you say real people in their own environment wins every time, background and all, it`s all part of the story. :-)

Why is this in links and resources?

The link is broken here. The link leads back to the Photo Gallery post. Go figure.

IMHO, one of the goals of this site should be to help newbies learn the difference between a snapshot and a photograph. I think a lot of people come here to increase their skills, and they can't do that here if the site is only to show off photos of more skilled photographers. Guess I'm wondering for whom should this forum exist?

I don't think that high quality and fine art have the same definition.
And it is high quality we are talking about here isn't it?

Hard to define "High Quality"
To some it`s crap, but to us lowly mortals, its "High Quality" cos we don`t have the ability, equipment or luck that the almighty have. :D
It would be far better to reply and say, good try but you really need to use blah blah and try blah blah.
Everyone has to learn.

Hey come on guys, every member can post and not all have the same ability or equipment. Why should it be only the Photoshop experts that can post photos ?
If you don`t like the quality of some of them, then don`t whinge, just post a reply and try to help us less fortunate.

Thanks, I had to move a bit sharpish out the way sometimes.

This is a video I shot handheld under extreme lighting conditions, I used a Nikon 5200 with the kit lens, I think it did a great job, I have had video cameras and they have been no better.
If your work is going to be done on a tripod then you would get excellent results.
