Thank you all for your replies. Most said it doesn't matter because both Nikon and Canon are worthwhile systems. But there must have been some criteria that made each shooter choose either brand or switch from one to the other and stay there.
Dear Hogs,
I know this question has been addressed before, but I'm wondering which camera system (Nikon vs. Canon) is the best. I realize there is no easy answer but I thought I'd ask it anyway. When I posed it to a professional photographer and Canon user a few years ago, she said Nikon had the better camera system but Canon had the better lenses.
Several months ago several UHH members posted several D7100 books they found useful to supplement the manual, but I failed to write them down. I'd appreciate it if they would again list their preferences. Thanks.
Thanks to all for weighing in!
Sorry I omitted the price range. Since My friend is a beginner I was thinking of $1,000 tops.
I have a young friend who is just beginning in digital SLR photography and is interested in a Canon camera with video capabilities. What are some models (as well as lenses) that might be suitable for him? Thanks for your help.
We had a few problems converting to Yosemite, the main one being that we had to replace our old printer and we found that apparently not all HP printers were able to handle Y. but we finally found one that did.
Pardon my ignorance or being away from the nuts and bolts of photography for too long: but what is the meaning of mirrorless photography?
What is the meaning of the above? Is it something positive? I read that it's done to the Nikon D7100, true? Why is it done? Thanks.
No, I specifically asked for a new lense each time. After the first time the rep apologized and said he'd correct the error. Plus the price quoted and the price I paid was for a new lense.
In response to my message about the rebirth of Calumet Photographic, two readers voiced their displeasure with Adorama. I'd like to add to that feeling. About 5 years ago I purchased a new Nikon lense from them and received a refurbished one instead. I complained, sent it back, and said I wanted a new one. Guess what? I again received a refurbished one. I got my money back but I don't think I'll ever trade with them.
Will a Nikon D80 work with a Nikon ED lens?
I don't know where I've been but I see that Calumet Photographic is back in business. When did this happen? Is it as good a source for cameras, etc. as say Adorama and B and H?
I was shopping for the Nikon D3300 and this week most stores were selling it for $499, except for Abes of Maine which listed it as $439. How can I tell if it's gray market or not?
f8lee,
What is incorrect? Several people weighed in on my question, so I wonder who you're disagreeng with.
