Will a Nikon D80 work with a Nikon ED lens?

ED is a lens type that refers to internal optical elements and has nothing to do with camera compatibility.
Your D80 will properly function with any autofocus lens that has a Nikon compatible mount, regardless of the AF system required by the lens. It will also use Ai, Ai'd, and Ai-S manual focus lenses, but you will naturally have to focus them manually.

With those lenses you will also have to use manual exposure with a D80 ..... Will you not?

No I us them on my D70,D80, and D200

According to Ken Rockwell's Nikon lens compatibility chart Ai, Ai'd and Ai-S lenses will meter on the D200, but not on the D70 or D80.

That was the source I used.

Yes. These lenses would need to be used in full manual on the D80.
