A hair right in front of the sensor would make a shadow just like that.

Thanks for the suggestion. I thought of that, but it is too straight.

I recently took this picture. It is not a very good picture, I was just messing around. But, when I went to look at it, I noticed this vertical line. I have no idea what could cause it. As you can see, there are several small dust or oil spots in the picture, but nothing like that can cause the line. No other pictures have had that line. It is not something out of focus in the background. I was shooting up in the sky
Info:
shutter speed 1/640 sec
F 9.0
ISO 140
300mm

Does anybody have any guesses?

I am looking for a reasonably good camera that I can bring with me while kayaking. Any suggestions are appreciated. These are my general requirements.
Small, so not a DSLR. Should fit in a shirt pocket if possible, or at least a large pocket.
Under $500 (hopefully).
High quality photos with a reasonable Zoom. 5-10x. I know this is not a FF DSLR, but I would like a camera sensor that delivers quality pictures, so a larger sensor is probably better. Of course keeping in mind that I am spending under $500.
Optical viewfinder so I can see the image in bright sunlight.
I am not going swimming with this camera, but I want it be ok if it is hit with water for a few seconds. I guess the test would be that it can be put in a few inches of water for a few seconds.

Thanks

Yes, drag and drop from within LR. Set it up for an overnight session. And, it's not LR that is usually at fault for "screwing things up." The fault normally lies with the user who fails to understand the program or to educate his or herself on how the program works. LR is not a mindreader nor does it contain a crystal ball to see and know all. Use the LR help manual online and read a good book on the software.

Be carefull if you do many folders at the same time. I have a high end setup and when moving large numbers of folders I have had LR hang up. This operation should be very easy to do, but somehow Adobe has managed to screw it up. Even if it works, it is unacceptably slow. To move large numbers of photos to another drive export and import functions may be a better and faster solution .

You can delete it in File Explorer if it hasn’t been Imported into Elements. The Elements Organizer only operates on files that have been Imported into its data base. It will not "see" files that aren’t in its data base.

Read gvarner & mwsilvers responses. They are definitely correct.

Assuming the deal is nothing special...beware someone offering something that is not offered by reputable dealers....I agree with most here..buy from BH..Adorama..or Roberts. Don't bother with the extended warranty.
Question to others...if you purchase with a credit card that extends the warranty on the camera and/or lens purchased-- has anyone ever needed to use it? If so, how did it work out?

Yes, a few years ago I used a visa extended warranty. Video monitor. They replaced it. Worked out well

You need to find that "enhance" software they have on those tv crime shows :-)

I suggest some more analysis before you decide the cameras you have don't work. I have a 7 year old Logitech and it works fine on a 10 year old windows 10 laptop.(not my primary pc). Do either cameras show up in device manager?

I'm not sure about the unplug and replug the keyboard. I use a Logitiech wireless.

Since you have already tried new keyboards, this is almost certainly a "driver" issue, assuming that all of the keyboards you tried are using the same windows drivers. If you do not know what a "driver" is, look it up, there should be some good explanations easily found. Bill_de has the right idea. It may not solve your problem, but you should definitely try it. If you do not know how to use device manager to remove and re-install devices, it is easy, but again , just do a search to get a good explanation. In short, if you go to DM and delete any device, when you re-boot, the windows operating system will try and re-install the drivers. In this case delete ALL keyboard and related devices. This will at least re-confirm that it is not a driver problem. One more coment, since you have tried more than one keyboard and it is very unlikely that 2 different keyboards have the same physical defect, it is almost definitely a software issue and not a hardware issue. This means that reinstalling back to a new image (new O/S) will fix it. But, make sure you back all of your data first. Hope this helps.

I just did a search on what they call themselves. "YC Network Ltd" and Jdgrey.
Nothing came up. Clearly a big warning sign. Instead of buying it, I suggest donating the $$ to the charity of your choice. At least your money will go to someone who deserves it. :-)

Let's put the CD vs Disk to rest. Someone on here said it best...."we all know what the OP meant".

I have had two 16 GB cards for my Canon when I bought it 6-7 years ago. Still working fine. However, a couple of caveats: my first Digital was a P&S Olympus that came with a 16 MB card (yeah, I know...ridiculous in light of today's technology). I bought, at that time, an Olympus xD 256 MB card and thought I was in seventh heaven. (Don't think you can get those xD cards anymore). It failed after a few years. Camera kept saying, "Format Card?" when I turned it on. could not work around it.

All the experts warn us that flash drives, AKA Thumb Drives, will eventually fail after enough write-to operations.

Lastly, surprised no one has stated the obvious: BACK UP your cards by off-loading periodically.

Major brand Flash cards are very reliable. But, in the past 20 years I have had a couple of cards fail. They were Sandisk brand and replaced after a short phonecall. (Lifetime warranty). If the relatively small size of your card is ok for your use, you should be fine. But one warning. Cards should not be used for long term storage of any data. Always back up to another media such as storage on a computer
