I gave up on this 6 months ago on my D500.
Has anyone use this recently? Please update. Thanks
How are you trying to set it up. I haven't used it in a while but it did work. Did you download the Snapbridge app?

Snapbridge, IMHO, is a total waste of time. Connection drops with the camera then the WiFi/Bluetooth goes nuts trying to re-establish the connection while your battery drains.
All my Nikons with external communications have been in Airplane mode since they came out of the box.

I use this multiple times a week for social media post. Using both a D750 and a D850. Works great!

Snapbridge was the last straw for me leaving Nikon for good and I was nikon sense 1972
I much preferred the old WMU app. I haven’t set up SnapBridge on my D500 or Z7 yet, but it was mostly just trouble on my old CoolPix. I want to set it up to use as a remote, but it’s too slow transferring photos.

Pretty severe. I've never heard of someone giving up their camera line because of a voluntary app.
Works well enough for me with my D5600.

I use it all the time with my D3400. I shoot RAW + JPG and I get JPGs on my phone suitable for a quick Facebook post with minor tweaks. I load the RAW onto my computer to post process the winners.

Snapbridge works great for me on my Z6. Very fast response time. Never tried on the D500.
I did download the latest Snapbridge about a week ago.

I have used Snapbridge on the D500, as well as the D3500, and have not had any problems. I am not sure what phone you have but if you want to try it again I would download the latest version and try it. It is much more stable than it was a few years back and works for me without any issues.
I have found that Snapbridge is inconsistent and and not reliable. I also have a Sony and that software works great for remote shooting. It is also easier to set up. I never even try to use Snapbridge anymore and will use the Sony app whenever I want with reliability.
